STARGATE ATLANTIS STUNT COORDINATOR

August 21, 2005

UFC night last night..................some great match ups for sure..................I'm not gonna get into details because if you saw it, you know! Wow, 6 am call time tomorrow. Yes sir, we start our set day at 6 in the morning. That is one hour earlier than we usually start, by the way. First thing up in the day, you guessed it, a fight scene. Who fights at 6 am? Yes, you guessed correctly again,...............us. We are on the last few days of shooting the "Michael" episode, and I think it's going very well. Our actors, director, and crew are putting in overtime on this one for sure. The SPFX make-up is fantastic. Todd Masters is the man! Paul McGillion head butt update........................we found a great spot for Paul(Beckett) to throw in a head butt. It was during our last episode, "The Tower"...................of course Paul and I thought it was the perfect place. Not so. Time alotted to shoot the scene didn't give us time for coverage of such a proposal so.................heads hung low, we walked away. "Keep your chin up", I told him, "We'll try again somewhere in the next episode!" Always on the watch, Paul will probably just end up head butting(Glasgow Kissing) Tori in the middle of some scene about test tubes, without warning me. Speaking of Tori, she has alot of interesting, and different(for her) training coming up this week...........no details for you yet as not to give away anything. Sean Patrick Flannery of "Boondock Saints" and "Powder" fame is in town working on "The Dead Zone" at the moment. He made it into Franco's gym to train this week a couple of times, and even taught a grappling class himself. Chris Bruno wrapped too late that night and didn't make it in. I'll try to rehearse any fights we have this week outside of Ivon's window, so he has something to look at. The city is extremely busy right now with many productions underway..................its very hard to find and hire my favorite stunt people. They keep getting booked first by other productions. For instance, Rachel's double Lani, just landed a great job on the new "X-Men3" film. She is a busy girl. She still has some time to come play with us though. Joe's double, Jeff Robinson, just booked a full time position another movie being shot hear...............the title is unknown to me. The stunt coordinator is a good friend of mine to I don't mind sharing. It's nice to see everybody working. Well............................6 am comes soon. Off to bed for now. Cheers.

Hi Bambam, your schedule sounds fun and exciting even if it starts at 6am :P

And how sweet of you to reherse out side of Ivon's window to give him some food for us hungry fans! LOL His little "window" segment is very cool and creative.

All the fighting you talk about makes me miss my training--hurt my back in an accident :( I am living vicariously through you for now. Hope you don't mind. Thanks for the morsals.

Have fun!

Must be wierd rolling with someone you saw on television; it's just odd. :-/ What's even more unusual is that I figured the actor - Flannery - was a wimp in real life. Shows what I know.

Purpletoo: I know how you feel about missing practices. MA is addicting! Get better soon! I hope it wasn't a big accident. :-)

Hi there
Love reading your blogs, it suprises me how much planning, training and chorography goes into each and every fight scene!!You do great work!!!Keep it up!!!!

I hope Paul gets a chance to work in a headbutt somewhere, would be interesting to see such a different side of our fav doctor!!!

Also I heard Weir will get the chance to wup Sheppard's butt in an upcoming episode, would love to hear any news you care to share on that!!!!

Well continue all your great work, looking forward to the next blog!!!

Other than going to work by 6am, your work sounds wicked fun!

Let the doctor have some stunts. Head butting Rodney would be swell. Let the doc get scrappy!

Any chance that Sean Patrick Flannery will return to guest on SG1? He makes a great bad man on Dead Zone though. The SGs, BSG, Dead Zone, The 4400 all filmed up there. Ooh...crossover ep when a 4400 shows up and turns out to be a G'ouald or an Ascended Ancient?!
