Chris Sayour update.............still stable condition but in ICU. I would like to thank all of you that have been sending me get well messages for him since the accident. I just arrived home from the set of another production currently shooting in Vancouver, "Dungeon Siege". Lots of swordplay and magic to be had on this one. I was just hanging around, playing with sharp objects, and fighting with Krugs. Krugs are ape-like creatures which are actually smaller stunt people in rubber suits. It's very hard to keep these boys cool enough not to pass out in the hot summer sun, while fighting in every scene!! Back on Atlantis we are preparing for a fast, yet multiple opponent style fight for Jason. I have no idea what I said to Ivon in the hallway, but it ended up outside in the parking lot............don't worry, I'm fine. Anyway, I have had the time to check out the film, "Cinderella Man"....................excellent. Any boxing history junkie has to see this movie...........forget that............anyone has to see this movie! Extremely well done. Some of the best boxing fight scenes I've ever seen in a film. Great performances all around as well by the actors. My favorite Itallian food restaurant owner has just called me, Mario is his name, with a surprise. The restaurant is "Amarcord" and is located in the Yaletown section of downtown Vancouver(for all of those convention goers). Once a year, he imports a shipment of zucini flowers on my request. He calls me and invites me down to enjoy one of my most loved dishes from my previous trip to Italy. Fiori de Zucca............spelling is optional on my blog in addition to Ivon's. If anyone is in this establishment for the next month............get in there and try it!! Just leave me some. They are not on the menu, so you have to ask for them. It seems the public response to our "Runner" episode is a good one. Alot of compliments on the knife fight between Ronon and Ford are flooding in...............Thank you all. Both actors trained very hard to get the techniques and timing just right..................I'm very proud of them, and of that fight. We shot it in record time, about 45-50 minutes, as we had run out of time in our shooting day. Under pressure like that, it's hard for anyone to perform. Usually a fight scene of that magnitude should take approx. 4-6 hours to shoot for television. Martin just knew exactly what to do. To add to the "proud of list" for that night, David Hewlett wanted to hang upside down between takes to save the production time. He would hang, we would roll the camera, I would spin him, he would say his lines, we would cut, and then we would do it all over again several times!! No complaints out of this man!! I've said too much for today............off too the gym.

Hi, BamBam!
Enjoying your blog very much.
And yes, that fight scene between Ford and Ronan was very impressive in "The Runner."
Looking forward to that stick fight sequence between Ronon and Teyla we've seen advertised on TV.
Have you practiced that fighting style that Peter DeLuise found for the Jaffa original in "The Warrior," and then was seen again in several SG1 Jaffa episodes? The one that hails from South America?
And how do you decide WHICH fighting style that you're interested in? There appears to be so many now. Do you balance the physical requirements of the sport vs any other factors?
Obviously, I'm a total novice in tis, but I'm interested. The closest I ever came to a fighting style was a cast iron frying pan at 5 paces with a drunk.
Best wishes.
Morjana
Sweet - I'll be in Vancouver next week and will stop by Amarcord for some zucchini blossoms. Don't worry - I'll leave you some.
Cheers!
Glad to know your friend is stable!
The runner fight scene was excellent and original! Those guys looked like they had been practicing for a long time. You all did great!
There you go talking about food again! If I lived in Vancouver I'd try the zuccini. Spelling is also optional on my blog, lol
Thanks for sharing. I can't wait for tonights ep!! Have a good one.
Oooooo I also love those stuffed zucchini flowers, I stuff them with ricotta cheese and toasted pine nuts then fry them till cripsy Mmmmmmm mmmmmm
then ya got the melted cheese to it is excellent.
Actually, sorry I stuff them with a mixture of Buffalo cheese and pine nuts, sometimes just the cheese. I get them here at Trader Joe's or the open market. I tried using the ones fresh from the garden when I grew the zucchini but the bugs always got to them before I did.
