MAY BREAK IS OVER

Hi all!!! We just came back from a huge 5 day break from shooting..........before that things were heating up fast..........busy on set on SG1 with Mr. Deluise on "Memnto Mori".......shooting "The Return" with Brad Turner on Atlantis..........prepping "Phantoms" for Martin Wood as well. Although we have had some great action since, I still think "Sateda" takes the cake for style and action this year so far. I glanced at a cut of "Common Ground" and, well, you will all love the heck out of that one too!! The truth of the matter is.......every episode this season is full on for both action and story.......so much to take in. I have my favorite moments on set and I've had a sneak peak at some special features from good old Ivon(he is working around the clock this year for you guys!)..........pay close attention to Season 3 Atlantis and Season 10 SG1, on air, and DVD's both. Many treats for you. I am very proud of what we have put together so far. I am now officially booked for Australia in July.......sounds like a long flight, but, SO WHAT!!!!! IT'S AUSTRALIA!!! I am told that it is winter there in July, but.......SO WHAT!!! IT'S AUSTRALIA!!! Yes, I am looking forward to the trip. We have another soccer game planned for the 4th of June I am told in addition to an SG1 vs Atlantis paintball game on the 3rd........hot tub and massage on the 5th in my opinion, but who is asking?! Glen Ennis just celebrated his Birthday last week........yes Glen. Formerly of Team Canada Rugby, now stuntman and performer of probably the most painful looking and actually painful stunt on Atlantis Season 3......which episode? Guess........ya, Sateda. Points for you!! Ask Robert Cooper about it! The pain registered on his face! Well, must go......the phone is ringing and it's.....it's Trevor Jones!! Ciao!

Australia is a great place and yes it will be winter when you come in July, but I'm sure it will still feel woarm compared to what you are used to!!!! I wish I had the opportunity to meet you while you are here, but unfortunatly I just can't afford it, maybe another time!!!!

Keep up the good work and hope to hear from you again soon!!!

Hugs

Hey BamBam,

Glad to hear there is a lot to look forward to this season! Looking forward to Sateda, you've said so much about it I can't wait!

The plane trip IS long, but I'm sure you'll have a blast here. It's actually a fairly strange Winter atm...Still sunny and not really that cold (at least where I am :P)

Take care and have a safe flight!

Maybe we'll both wait outside and say hello after zee con, haha take you clubbing! *jumps up and down* < and I'm only doing that to keep walm! - Yesterday was sunny - oh YAY I looked outside. So Is today, I'll go lay in the park with the colleges Cannon XL2. *hugs it* *talks to it* 'one day you'll be mine baby' *hugs it*

James, the flight is worth it, and the winter is pathetic by Canadian standards from my memory (sorry Ozzies, its true :) Oz pals called me this morning, said it was about 15C or so in Parramatta. And watch out, she IS coming to find you, told her all about the stunt show you and the team put on at the Van con. Plus, big X-Men fan too. Have fun in Australia, it's amazing there...cute animals, too ;)

stop knocking our winter - it's still only Autumn here - it's not winter until next week!!! Anyway, there has been snow in the Blue Mountains already, so where still working up to it, OK!!

But Joey, your right, I have a friend on PEI and when she told me the ocean freezes over, I was soooooo glad I live here!

And James, is stunt work "knowingly" supposed to hurt? When I (eventually) get to watch Sateda, I will be sure to appreciate EVERY stunt!

Look forward to seeing you at the Con in July.

Susan

A Gater's Guide To Australia...meant to make you laugh and offend everyone else...

Queensland: The Sunshine State
Good weather, good women, and the only place in the world where Bette Middler can walk through a shopping mall and be ignored. Some of the best beaches are found at Surfers Paradise and Noosa. The capital city 'Brisbane' is not for those wanting to paint the town red....but you can manage a bright shade of orange if you hit “The Valley” on a Saturday night.

South Australia : **insert tumble weed here**
HA!

New South Wales/ ACT: *cough*
The first state founded by criminals...kinda cool eh? The home of Australia's politics...we pretend not to notice them most of the time. It does boast some mighty fine shopping spots in Sydney and everyone will agree that Mardi Gras is one of the best weeks on the Aussie calendar.

Victoria: Hard Core Australia
If one goes to Victoria one must go to the Haigh Chocolate Shop in Melbourne – stuff everything else that is where you need to go... I'm sure *someone* can fill you in on all the football nonsense they seem so into down there.

Northern Territory: So much from a state so unsung
There are a few things to know about the Northern Territory – has some of the greatest natural scenery you'll ever see, and beer, there are amazing traditional Aboriginal settlements, and beer, you can stand there on a 50 degree day and not feel the heat because there is no humidity (towards the bottom this is) and then you can have a beer. Also – there are no speed limits on some stretches of road – so you can go 300km/hr and feel the wind dehydrate your eyeballs but be sure your car is in top condition because if you break down the nearest road side assistance is 2012...

Western Australia: Where it is still the year 1906
We believe that they recently discovered the wheel over in WA...and they were very happy when they caught up with the whole “Fire” thing...one of the best spots to go whale watching – although Elle Mcpherson's sister's boat (and if you know underground videos you know her) is over at Harvery Bay in Queensland (another plus for the good old Qld).

Tasmania: Where size really doesn't matter
Yes – the rest of us DO recognise the state as part of our fair nation. The state where your loved ones come first and the family that bonks together stays together.

You will have a BLAST here – and rest assured our winters are pretty tame.

Hi Bambam,
Yes it is winter here
I'm 2 and a half hours from Sydney and I'm wearing 5 layers of clothing with the heater on, bring a jumper (or sweater in the American lingo). If it were any colder it would snow, it's icy here, though it only does that at higher altitudes.
Hope you thouroughly enjoy your visit

Just saw your wee bit on the Atlantis DVD special features. Your job looks like hard work - but fun hard work. I do have one question though. What happens to the blue pads? Whenever you see anyone practicing the stunts they have the blue pad to land on but when you see the actual program obviously you don't see the pad so do they hind it under some earth or paint it out in the editing or do you only use the pads for practice?

I can't believe I'm going to have to wait a year for Sateda now.

Hi, I have just watched the feature on stunts in the vol 4 UK DVD for series 2. I usually don't like watching the features but it was REALLY interesting. I was fascinated at how it all 'comes together' on the day of filming, but the amount of work that is done prior to that was much more than I had appreciated.
Maybe you should bring out a fitness DVD with a fight theme. I could tire myself out watching it from the comfort of my armchair!

Greetings from rainy Scotland.

James,
Will be seeing you on American Gladiators? I can just imagine Bam Bam up against the likes of Nuklo or Lady Mayhem or even Brunhilda the Bratislavian Beast Woman, doing noble battle with oversized Q-tips over the Pit of Death (a.k.a. cushy foam insulation)? Can't wait! Ishshah
