OYA......SATEDA!!

I am getting comments and questions on this blog regarding Sateda, the episode with the fantastic action that aired last night, August 4th. Yes.....you seem to all agree with me now, SATEDA ROCKS!!! If you have questions about the episode, please log into ASK BAMBAM, and I will be more than happy to answer you. Really, anything about the episode is fair game now that it has aired. We(the cast and crew) are very proud of it and we thank you very much for all the very kind words. Very fitting that Jason had his 27th Birthday this week,August 1rst, and Sateda was released at the same time frame......Happy B-Day again J.! Some of you are calling this the greatest episode ever, that is, of course, a matter of opinion, but there are more to come that you will enjoy, just as much, but in different ways!! We really have a mixed bag of entertainment this year! Something for everyone........Soooooooo......enjoy!! I LOVE SATEDA!! Ciao.

It was good times; some of the fight scenes were a little over the top, but for me it really worked in context. Great job to all involved!

Sateda was an excellent epidose... I hope it hints at some new directions, evolution-wise, in the series. Great work!

Hey there Mr. Bamford,

I wanted you to know that this episode was so amazingly wonderful, awesome and down and out freaking cool as hell that at 11:00 at night, after the episode was over, I woke up my roommate and made her come down stairs to watch it! Of course, she yelled at me and told me to get out and leave her alone...but the next day when she watched it...she called me at work screaming about how wonderful the episode was. So please, if you can, pass along the thanks of Ashley and Michele who just might be the two most critical fans of the show...in a good way. So, thank you again for eveything you've done...and I guess the actors did a good job too...

Ashley

Wonderfull episode, probly one of my favourite atlantis episodes so far.
The fight in semi darkness between Ronon and the first wraith was coulda easily been mistaken for feature film quality

At Timeless Destinations, Dan Payne told us all about his work on Sadeta as the uberwraith and how the stunt with him flying through the air from the rocket hit was done.

Dan said the look of horror on the Wraith's face was not acting! He still doesn't know how you talked him into doing that bit of wire work.

Hey BamBam,
Sateda was great. I was wondering if you did any cameo appearances in seasons 10 or 3 of SG-1 and Atlantis. In "Uninvited," the SG-1 episode from this week, a hunter killed by the monster looked like you.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Sateda is probably the best episode of Atlantis I've seen so far. You guys looked like you had so much fun.

The fight scenes were just...wow, dude, seriously. *shakes hand*

Great job.

Also, was that you I saw in the co-captain's chair of the Daedalus on the seson premier, or just an extra who looked freakshly like you?

I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought it was a pretty lackluster episode, even boring. The fight scenes were well done in terms of the acting and choreography, but I didn't really think the story had much to it, and fights themselves never have much draw for me (sorry, I know it's your thing, and you're great at it, but it's not why I watch this show). The attempts at character development seemed forced, and the thing that kept me going was the humor and not the action. It just seemed like not much happened, and that's a bad thing for an action-oriented episode.

It was certainly the low point of the season for me so far for Atlantis. The first two episodes and Progeny were as good as it gets, and Irresistible was really funny and had a story with lots of nice twists. In comparison, Sateda seemed like the only thing going for it was action, and I'm glad that's not par for the course with Stargate as it was with Andromeda once the original writers were off that show (though Sateda was still much, much better than the tripe that show turned into). Stargate is usually capable of so much more than this.
