Auckland and Melbourne and Sydney and Brisbane, oh my!!!!

I'm leaving tomorrow to join Torri on a fabulous addventure starting in New Zealand and then travelling through Australia. I'm very excited. I've always wanted to that part of the earth and now I'm going to get the chance... Thank you for this.

I can't wait to see all of you who can make it down to see us at the conventions most of all.

If there's anything I absolutely have to do while I'm there other than swim with man-eating sharks, please tell me about it all.

I'll make sure I blog from there and tell you the goings on as they're going on..

My father was visiting me for the last few days in his homoe town of Vanocouver. We had the best time ever. I'll put some pics up so you can see the man whose balls I used to live in.... lol... Look at me now!!! lolol...
Best Ever. We played piano in the mornings and walked through zen gardens in the afternoons. cooked in the evenings and chatted about how to wake up the planet to its devetating fate throughout the trip. came up with some interesting possibilities.
Love you papi!!!

Tell you guys more later. I gotta go pack. Good Times.

HAPPY EARTHDAY ERIN JORDAN COURTNEY ERNIE McKAY!!!
Cry if you want to.

Love is Love.

Wow! Have an awesome time on your trip -- I'm stuck in the boones of Pennsylvania (it's my life story), so I'm really jealous! Say hello and thanks to Torri for all of the hard work this season from all of us here at Gateworld. And give yourself a pat on the back while you're at it! Glad you had a good time with your dad. It's nice to spend time with family...even though sometimes I wish I could get away once in a while. Again, have a great time and thanks for keeping us up to date on the world according to Rainbow!

Sounds like a great trip. When you’re in Brisbane, the beaches along the Sunshine Coast are worth checking out. And Northern NSW/ Byron Bay (2 hrs from Brisbane) is fantastic and a lot less commercialized than the Gold Coast/ Surfers Paradise area. Also if you have the time, the Barrier Reef is worth visiting, great diving...sorry, there’s more to see than just the beaches but I’m overseas at the moment and hankering for the beach big time...And don’t worry about the sharks, they only get a couple of people a year, that’s fairly good odds. ;-)

NZ is also a beautiful country (check out the south island if you have time), a lot of adrenalin stuff to do, bungee jumping (if you’re game), dune buggying, shot over speed boating etc.

Sounds like you had a great time with your dad in Vancouver. I used to live in Spokane, WA (now I live in WA DC) so I should have visited BC when I had the chance.

Crikey Rainbow's coming to Sydney!!!

Do us a favour and bring some of that famous Vancouver rain with you will you? Haven't had good rain here for years now - and not too many Rainbow's for that matter!!!

Looking forward to your energy at the conventions - and I agree with others - the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb is a must, you get a great view from up the top, an you get to wear a really spunky outfit!

As for your trip to NZ - Bungy jumping was taken to new heights there (no pun intended). I would have said invented, but that would be a lie, as it was invented in Vanuatu. However, the Kiwi's perfected it. Just make sure that, if you do decide to do this, you are attached at both ends before you jump!!!!

Have a great ride and I'll catch at the con in Sydney!!

Hey Rainbow,

Myself and three mates are heading off to the Melbourne con, we all have VIP tickets so you'll be seeing plenty of us (dinner included, the place is awesome, very upmarket). We are all so excited about you and Torri coming and just so you know, I'd advise against swimming in October, man eating sharks aside, it's a bit cold in the water :P

As for what to do here, can we just tell you in person? I'd take you to the football, if it was in season :P although my friends tell me there is more to Melbourne then football.

See you in just about a week (which means I have some exams to study for, whoops). No more Atlantis girl!

hi Rainbow ... glad you looked at the Splore Site! I'm going to the 2006 festival and it should be soooo much fantastic music, tripped out, spacey, luvved up fun! :)

remember to pack your umbrella coz its pourin down with rain in Auckland hehehe they say we have four seasons in one day but i tend to think we get four seasons in one hour LOL

Bungy jumping .. yes do it off the Harbour Bridge ... very cool views on the way back up too! :)

Rap Jumping is another option - your abseiling face first down a building - can be done in Auckland City and is lots of fun

Also got a Sky Jump - where you fly down the Sky Tower at crazy speeds suspended with ropes

Plus a ride near Sky Tower where you are seated and it springs up into the air and then hurtles back down in a spinning trajectory soooo cool!

The Hauraki Gulf has some very beautiful islands and the one with the big cone (Rangitoto) is in fact a dormant volcano so heyyy its got a nice view and it wont erupt on ya either! :)

Rotorua is 4 hours drive on the way down to Wellington but it has mud pools, geysers, hot pools and springs ... not pretty but very cool geothermal activity if you like your wilderness hot! haha

I hope you enjoy your stay in New Zealand and fingers crossed we see more of you in Season 3 of SGA!
big ups & mad props to u! :)

Well it looks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb is a popular ""must do"!!! So here is a link in case your giving it serious thought!!!

http://www.bridgeclimb.com/default.htm

I'ts a 3 1/2 hour round trip so you need to give yourself time in your busy schedule! Also you get breath tested - so if your going on an early morning climb be careful what you imbibe the night before ;-)

Also, don't worry about the cold water if you want to swim with the sharks, the colder the water the better as it slows 'em down LOL.
And. if your going to do this in Brisbane in a controlled environment, you'll probably be in a wet suit anyway - so go for it!!!

Hey Rainbow

You mentioned wanting to know things to do in Australia and it seems that everyone has really great suggestions! But while they are all just little things that can be done in a day there is so many other things to see and do in Australia.
So I've been thinking about it and heres my suggestion, I'm not sure if you will have enough time but if you do perhaps you could consider renting a 4WD in Sydney and driving from there to Brisbane. You can either drive along the coast which is absolutly beautiful, like nothing anywhere else, but if you really want to go extreme you could actually go west and drive through Outback New South Wales and Queensland! Trust me when I say you have not lived until you have felt the red dirt between your toes, and seen nothing but flat landcape all around you as far as the eye can see (who knew you could actually miss mountains lol)!!! But the Outback is absolutly AMAZING, there is so many things to see and the everyday you see something new it is constantly changing! You can visit the Rabbit-Proof-Fence which is over 1500 kilometres long and travels through 3 states, or watch the sun go down over the Granites in Queensland, or go for a paddlesteamer ride on the Darling River in Bourke New South Wales!
Trust me when I say a trip through the Outback is an adventure and definatly worth it!!!
And if you don't have time this trip perhaps you could consider it another time!!!

Well thats my suggestion
12 days and counting
See you soon
Erin

Can't wait to meet you in Brisbane, Rainbow... While you're in our sleepy little city, definately check out Southbank. You could hop on one of the City Cats to cruise the river & see the city. Mt Cootha is a great spot to go to overlook the city as well.

If you're a fan of Steve Irwin the Croc Hunter, you can check out his Australia Zoo at Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast (about 1.5hrs north of Brisbane) otherwise the Sunshine Coast is worth checking out for the beaches alone... Especially Noosa for some gorgeous scenery...

Hi, Rainbow! It was fantastic meeting you in Melbourne today, thanks so much for taking the time to come down here - I had a great time.

On another note, since I don't think I'm going to be able to convince you of the coolness of Vegemite, how about some nice roasted kangaroo meat? I hear it tastes just like chicken. Or witchetty grubs, perhaps? I've been told they're nice with tomato sauce. Or if you really want to go all out, you could have a go at a good old Australian barbie. (Don't worry, we'll make an Aussie of you yet!)

My mum's a big fan of yours, by the way - thinks you're a real "spunk"! Every time she watches the show she asks me if Ford is going to die and insists that she'll stop watching if he ever does. ;)

hello rainbow
im not gonna make a smart arse reply about vegemite...at all...
ahahaha
actually the way you described it, what with the poo and the yeast and all that kinda makes me not want to look at it anymore. but i never really ate it in the first place.
you were really kind of psychotic in sydney. lol. apparently you were even worse for...some convention in england..sometime ago...*vague*...
but it was very entertaining and you are a great great fabulous talker. you should have told us about fiji and shown us a picture when torri was showing us her dog!
by the way, did you really pay for part of a ladies *thing* that she bought at the auction at the sydney con? haha, my friend said you did but i totally missed it.
i took so many photos that day...and then i went out to the city for a party and I LOST IT!!! I LOST MY MUMS $900 CAMERA!!! (NZ$1,000,000) hahaha, and in that i lost all my photos :( :( :( :( ohhhhhh mannnnnnnn.
my friend and i didnt get to get an autograph of any of you guys coz we had to haul arse to the city...to lose my camera...haha...we didnt get a photo with any of you guests either coz we went downstairs to eat coz we didnt have breakfast HAHAHA. and we MISSED IT!!! we are such convention amateurs. and i wasnt stalking anyone from the balcony...

are you going to post the photos you took of the audience?

see you!

Yo sarah (crazy camera girl..) Random question: Did you use to work on Xena the tv show?

Kia ora Rainbow,

Yea this series of stargate's good. I'm not a crazy over obsessed fan though, so won't be meeting ya. Haha, don't be dissapointed (as you wouldn't anyway) the only tv personalites I would even bother to meet would have to be the real life cartoon versions of Homer and Mr. Burns( Lovin' his evil styles exceelllent.)

Anyway, have a wicked time here. Unless you have already been...I really have no clue. Just stumbled across this site cos I wanted to see what your name 'Rainbow san' was about. (Man you must think us randoms are weird)I didn't find out anyway.
Laters.
