LOL yeah some days I really want to do that!! But I don't. However, I thank the person who made me that little cartoon. It lets me live vicariously some days online as well as off line.
Its been a busy Hiatus over here at the GOTH household...LOL I just saw what Goddess Of The Hug as an acronym spelled out ...too funny....I am so far removed from Goth it just isn't funny...but I find the humor in using it.
Those that have kept up with me either in random drive-by posts or on my few public Live Journal posts know that Hubs and I had been busy getting our back yard in order for our daughter's wedding. SO we haven't had a whole lot of time to miss SG-1 or SGA until just this last Friday. Granted it is always wonderful to watch the re-runs of past seasons and we own the DVDs in order to do just that. But there is nothing like a Brand New Shiny StarGate episode to make you want to snuggle down into the couch with a fresh cuppa and enjoy the next hour.
So I miss that. I am enjoying the new season of Dr. Who. I thought I would miss Rose more than I have but Martha has been just wonderful and a great foil for the Dr. Of course being a sappy romantic I always love when the leads have good natural chemistry and I, of course, then want it to turn *romantical* but thats just me. I am one of those *cliched fans* that likes the leads to get together if they have chemistry.
It is taking forever..long drawn out sigh.... for BSG to come back..THAT is another show I am looking forward to. I am sad that this will be its final season because I do like so many of the actors as well as the characters. It has been nice inviting them into my living room week after week.
I hope that *The Bionic Woman* does good mainly because I am a HUGE Katee Sackhoff fan and I hope to see her go far. It will be nice watching her grow as an actress and possibly take on even meatier roles.
But until all the shows premiere..I am twiddling the thumbs...boring!!!
Unfortunately Sci-Fi, the channel, just doesn't seem to really have the greatest taste in production when it comes to making movies and other shows. So it is not hard to change my channel from them most of the time.
OH I forgot to mention Eureka... that has come back and it has been nice to see again as well. Although...in the first episodes I have to say I am not as enthused about it. So far I am just not as impressed with the story lines, the characters have been a bit flat and please ...dear God...tell me that the Ex wife is NOT staying!!! BSG already ruined one season with a *quadrangle* I would hate to see Eureka do the same.
I am not as big of an SGA fan as I was of SG-1. Why?? Well I am not all that impressed with some of the character development that I have seen. Second, I think that TPTB ignore fan responses to select things. and third two of the characters I really did enjoy won't be much of a factor in Season 4.
Again, I am one fan that needs an *emotional attachment* to a show to really get involved and excited.
For SG-1- I loved all the team stuff and I love action adventure, but what hooked me in was Sam & Jack and their back-burner love story.
For BSG - The whole premise was well written and had been well performed, but Lee & Kara are the driving force behind why I stuck it out even when I was disgusted with the choices made by the writers to do things with ALL of the characters that I thought were off the grid and the show was getting almost *too dark* for me to watch.
For Dr Who - Its funny, campy and just plain good fun But the connection between Rose and the Dr was my bait..and I fell in hook, line and sinker. Now with Martha it is even more so.
For Eureka - I just enjoy the whole ensemble and the Sheriff, the everyday guy, figuring out how to save the smart people But his banter and time with Allison...caught my heart.
For SGA - Well..this one was a harder sell for me...because first I do NOT trust the PTB to write new stuff nor do I trust them to give the fans any real payoff. But I liked Ronon and Teyla together. They have a natural chemistry that I enjoyed. Sheppard and Weir were another couple I enjoyed (reminders of Sam & Jack) and McKay with his girl is just fun.
The action and adventure of SGA is medium...only because TPTB rehash alot of what has already gone on before on SG-1 and while I understand that and I DO give them credit when they put a fresh spin on an old *sci-fi adage* they don't do it often enough or possibly well enough for me to get over the top excited......mainly because they don't try to get me emotionally invested.....and I need that to get gung ho over a show.
I am looking forward to Sam (Amanda Tapping) joining the show, if only to see what new dynamic the show will take on. I think she is an outstanding actress and funny as all get out. So maybe Jack will come visit her there (yeah right..I know dream on pathetic shippy woman LOL)
I know not every fan even likes romance in their Sci-Fi and thats ok

we can still be friends. I am not a *rabid shipper* and can still enjoy the show without it....I just won't spend my *impulse money* on it. I need to feel something from my entertainment in order to spend my hard earned $$$ and for ME that involves some romance :-)
So I sit here and wait for the new seasons to begin...hope that each one will bring me a great amount of entertainment, some amount of escapism...and possibly...a bit of romance.......
What more can any Sci-Fi girl ask for.......
see ya on the flip-side Gators
