We met the others in the mess hall, and had a quick breakfast. Sam and Teal'c looked rested enough, but Mitchell was just as tired as Daniel. I knew he would be... What did I tell you? Cards until 01:00 in the morning...

After breakfast Daniel led all of us in the briefing room. General Landry was already there. I think Daniel may have called him first, and then came down to breakfast. As we all seated around the table, Daniel went away for a couple of minutes, only to return with his arms full of papers covered in drawings, sketches, translations and other boring stuff... Anyway, everyone had their eyes on him. Finally, he started talking, in his fast, unstoppable manner, almost not having time to breathe.

`Ok... I think I have good news this morning, everyone... I think I found where Merlin's weapon is hidden. I worked on the translation we found on P7X-379, at the Temple of the wise... As you all know, there are only two possible locations for this thing... Or so we thought... According to the writings in the Temple, the Weapon is on neither... Or if it is, then this is something completely different...'

`Can you be more specific, Doctor Jackson?' the General asked.

`Yes... Well, the writings described an object of great force, known to the people of P7X-379 as "Merlendissum". Now, due to the modifications in their language, which derived from the language of the Lantians, the word is different from what it once was... Meaning, properly translated from the Lantian language, it means "Merlin's Destroyer". Therefore, I assumed it might be the weapon we are looking for, or something else... Just as efficient...'

I must admit I am stunned. Jackson really worked on this... I still am amazed by his talent regarding translation and tedious conversions from one language to another, and linguistic modifications (words I learnt from him) and all that nonsense... But I also must admit, that without his patience, we wouldn't have gotten as far as we did by now... I looked at my companions. They were staring at him.

`Daniel, are you sure about this?'

`Yes Sam, I am sure. At least, that's what the translation says. However, there is a problem...'

`What kind of problem, Doctor Jackson?' said the General.

`Umm... there is an Ancient depository in that temple... And... I think the only one who can handle this kind of stuff is...'

`General O'Neill... But we didn't find any depository in that temple. Are you sure about this, Daniel?'

`Yes, Sam. The thing is that there is a secret chamber in that temple, one we didn't find, but these writings tell us where it is... In that chamber, there is the depository... But, without Jack... I think we can't do much... I mean...'

`Can't we just call the General and ask for his help? I mean, if no one else can do this...' Mitchell said.

`General O'Neill's mind has been twice overridden by information from this kind of device, I doubt he'll agree to this... ' The General said.

Wow! That means they'll call him anyway... I will certainly be looking forward to meet him. Judging from what I heard about him, he's a nice, funny guy... As sarcastic as he is military... Or did Teal'c just made that up?

`I suggest calling him... If he doesn't accept, then we'll have to stick someone else's head into the depository, in order to find out, but I was thinking about Jack, because he had been through this twice, and I think Thor likes him more than he likes... anyone else...'

Wow! He's the sarcastic now! Or is he just tired? And I bet he'll want to leave me out of this...

`I accept your suggestion, Doctor Jackson. We will call the general, and if he agrees to help, I will authorize the mission.'

The General didn't look too happy... But truth be told, I think he's more afraid of me screwing it up than of them failing to succeed... or, in the worst case, he's afraid of having me around the base without being supervised by Daniel... I don't think he quite trusts me... yet...

So they called General O'Neill, and he came, later that day, just before lunch. He looked funny enough for me, and when he actually spoke...

`Morning kids! Hank... What's up? I've been told you guys need my help...'

Yes, they were right... He's funny!

`Hello Jack... well, the thing is...'

Daniel is hesitating... I don't think he wants to tell the guy he has to lose his memory a third time... The others are silent. They want to let Daniel screw Jack's day...
