Author Notes: Again, sorry for making it so short. Hope you like it!!
`Thing is? What? What did you do this time? What can be so... can't find the word, sorry, in order for you to need *my* help and not Carter's, or Teal'c's?'
`Well... I think I found a clue as to where Merlin's weapon is... But there is a problem... And that problem... Could be solved by you...'
Oh, yes, Daniel is definitely going to ruin his day... Poor General O'Neill...
Jack O'Neill looked at Daniel as if he were mental, but the archaeologist knew better than to be discouraged.
`Ok, spill it out, Danny boy... What is it? I haven't got all day, you know... I was about to go fishing when Hank here called me, so this better be good...'
`It is good... There's an Ancient depository that we think contains the information as to where the Weapon is hidden...'
He looked down on the table as he finished. I think he was afraid of Jack's angry looks... I think the retired General just went pale before he answered.
`You better be joking, Daniel...'
`Sorry Jack... I'm not joking...'
`Then it is worse than I thought... Teal'c's got more sense of humor than you...'
`Jack, this is serious... We need to have access to that depository... Really... Or else, Vala's evil offspring will kill every living thing in this galaxy, and I'm sure she's not going to stop here...'
I can't believe he brought that up!! After all, it isn't my fault my only daughter is a monstrosity... The Ori cheated, and I am just another victim! I have to tell Jack that...
`I'm sorry, Daniel, but I don't think you should blame me for it, after all, it wasn't my fault...' I said, upset that it was precisely Daniel who brought it all up...
`Don't worry, Daniel told me it wasn't your fault... But I have to say, this is a really, really good plan, except for one little... inconvenience: I'll loose my memory once again, and I am telling you, I don't want to.'
Jack seems determined not to do it... hmm... I might benefit from this... If he's not going to do it, then I will, so they can see I am trustworthy enough to be part of their team...
`Don't worry, General, I'm going to do it...' I said, not really knowing what the whole "stick your head in it" thing meant.
`Excuse me? Have got any idea what's it like? Losing all capability to express your self? Not that I do that often, but still...' Jack said to me, but I think he did it out of fear rather than concern... But I can accept his fear... after all, he only read my report and listened to what Daniel had to say about me... it's not like he really knows me...
`Jack, the Asgard can help you... again... Thor can fix your memory, and all will be just fine...'
`Sorry Daniel, I don't think I want to be downloaded in an Asgard ship computer...'
`Then maybe I should do it this time, sir...' Sam said, looking rather concerned. Jack looked back at her with eyes that seemed to silently ask: "Have you been brainwashed?" I always suspected there was something more than just friendship between these two... After all Teal'c told me about them, I began to think so, and I am pretty sure Teal'c never lies...
`Are you mad? Have you gone nuts? Have you been brainwashed?'
There he goes, the question I knew he was going to ask...
`No sir, but I think two times is enough for you to be really fed up with all this thing, and we need to know where the weapon is.'
`But Sam - `
`No, Daniel, someone has to do it... We can't let Teal'c do it, the Asgard aren't that fond of the Jaffa, as to fix his memory, and we can't have the General go through it again. And as for you, you know you can't, because then there would be no way of knowing what you actually say... So, I guess that leaves me...'
Wow! Sam takes charge... They shouldn't let her though, she's the brightest team member... No use in wasting her... human knowledge...
`What about me?'
`And me?'
`Don't you dare let Carter do that!'
Mitchell, I and Jack said, all at once.
`Sorry?' Daniel asked, obviously confused.
`What about me?' Mitchell asked, followed by my loud:
`And me?'
`And I said "don't you dare let Carter do that!"' Jack followed.
`Well, I obviously can't let Vala do that, she is much too valuable to have her memory overridden with that kind of information...' Daniel said. I was sure he was going to push me out of this.
`What do you mean, Daniel? I am just as good as anyone...' I said, obviously upset by his statement.
`I mean what if the Ori come after you? They have your daughter, and she will definitely use all the knowledge you possess to find the weapon first and destroy it, before we even get close to it, and you know she can find it faster than us...'
Daniel was right about this one. They had my daughter leading them... And she is not easy to get rid of...
`Oh...' I said, instead of a full reply.
`So, what's wrong with me?' Mitchell asked again. He wants to be the hero, I can see that, but he's always in Sam's shadow, since they have the same military rank and she is obviously a lot smarter than he is.
`I agree with Daniel Jackson. The Asgard know O'Neill better than they know any of us, and they respect him. I do not believe they would interfere for anyone else...'
Go Teal'c! Actually, this was the first time he spoke since General O'Neill came.
`Please, Daniel, let me - ` Sam began, but was immediately interrupted by Jack's outburst:
`Carter! I know you are not my second in command anymore, but I know stuff about you that would get you court-martialled.
`Sir, you wouldn't... I mean, there's nothing you could say, anyway...' Sam seemed scared. I wonder what the General has on her...
`Carter, need I remind you of a little chat we had some years ago, about six, I think, in that room?'
Sam grew pale while he said this.
`No, sir...' She answered, almost in a whisper.
`Then keep your head away from that thing.' Jack told her. I wonder what they've been chatting about that time...
`Yes, sir...' She said.
`Then what do we do? Someone has to acquire that knowledge...'
There goes Daniel again... I bet Jack will not resist, and say yes after all... He sighed before he spoke again:
`Fine, I'll do it...'
`You will? Seriously?' Daniel asked, somewhat amazed.
`I will, but only if you swear you'll get the little guy to fix my brain again...' the General said, looking at all of us.
`Don't worry General, I'll convince him, if they can't' I said, willing to be of some help to them.
`Thor is not exactly the kind of person you'd like to seduce, Vala...' Daniel said. He puzzled me.
`What does he mean?' I asked, looking at Jack.
`The Asgard can't be seduced... They replicate by cloning themselves...' Jack quietly said.
