Author Notes: Yeah guys. This is all. I'll be posting a Stargate Atlantis Fanfic pretty soon. Enjoy!
`So? What do we have so far? Jack?' General Landry asked. Before answering, Jack took a cookie from the tray in front of him. However, when he spoke, half of his words were spoken in Ancient. Daniel translated everything, including the name of the planet where Merlin's weapon was. It was some place called Irriadh.
`So, you say that here we'll be finding this weapon?' General Landry asked again. Daniel translated what Jack said, which all in all means "yes", and then he gave us authorization to go on a new mission to retrieve it.
However, Mitchell couldn't come with us. Lam said there was no way she was going to authorize him to get out of the Infirmary, let alone to leave the planet, so we passed by to see him before we went. He regained his hearing, and was could see a little bit too. After another nettle soup, Lam was sure he'll be as good as new.
Jack had given us the Gate address and Walter dialed, (again annoying me with his chevron thing), and we went through. The M.A.L.P. showed an empty, desert-like planet, and although a bit high, the temperature was bearable. We wore camouflage uniforms this time (I can't help thinking it: I love changing uniforms!) and according to Daniel (well, actually, Jack), we had to find a cave somewhere in the mountains in front of us.
We found about a dozen caves, and we decided to ask Jack which was the right one. He told Daniel that the fourth cave was the one we were looking for. Before entering, Jack made a wide hand gesture to retain us all. He lifted a rock and threw it in. Hundreds of darts flew inside, covering the cave's floor. After that, we went in. we followed a tunnel to the end of the cave where we found a Ring platform. It transported us into another chamber which seemed to belong to a cave as well, but we haven't found the weapon. Instead, we found a stone on which it was written in Ancient: "No more shall you seek for the Destroyer here. The Ori have long ago discovered this planet, and the Weapon has been moved." (translation by Daniel, of course).
`And now what?' I asked.
`I think now would be the time to go home... empty handed...' Daniel said.
`We came all this way for nothing...' said Sam.
`Not exactly... At least we know it's not here... That means it's still out there somewhere...' Daniel said.
`I believe the only thing we have to gain from General O'Neill's third data assimilation is a bit more information...' Teal'c spoke, deranged by the fact that he had to witness his friend's third time with an overridden brain, fact for which he had to conceal a real danger.
`Jack says it has been a complete waste of time and he also says you guys have to go fishing with him on your next day off...' Daniel translated. Then Jack said something else, something Daniel didn't want to translate.
`I bet that means you have to come too', Sam said, smiling. Daniel looked innocently at her and then we all returned in the cave. We then returned at the Gate and back home. After a complete check-up from Lam, and another visit to Cameron, (who by the way was recovering fast and now Lam would only keep him until the results of his last blood tests would arrive), we went to the debriefing room. General Landry was waiting for us.
`So, what you mean to say is, Doctor Jackson, that after all this, we have no weapon, we still don't know where it is, Colonel Mitchell got into the Infirmary with a serious illness and General O'Neill has to have his memory arranged by the Asgard', the General revised.
`Yes, sir...' Daniel muttered.
Later that day, the Asgard took Jack and a couple of hours later returned him with his memory intact and his language switched on English again.
All in all, the whole thing had been, like Jack emphasized once he got back, pointless.
But we were determined to try again... and again... and again... We knew we didn't have to get discouraged and that we had to go look for the only weapon that could stop my daughter and the evil (and spooky I might add) Ori.
