BATTLESTAR GALACTICA NEWS
Tricia Helfer reveals 'Gina' character
TUESDAY - JULY 12, 2005

Number Six
Actress Tricia Helfer revealed the details of an important upcoming character on Battlestar Galatica -- one with a surprising twist. Beware of spoilers in the report below!

"[Season Two episodes] 10 and 11 are a real shocker, which is actually why I have this color hair right now," the "Number Six" actress told fans last weekend at the Shore Leave convention in Baltimore. "You're getting the first sneak peak at Gina, a new clone of Number Six, who doesn't have the white hair because all my hair fell out."

Gina will first appear in "Pegasus," the mid-season cliff-hanger expected to air in the U.S. in September, and the continuation of that episode that will air in January. In the first episode, Baltar studies Gina and concludes that Cylons are susceptible to the same psychological afflictions as human beings.

"We're introducing another clone of Number Six that has shorter, darker hair," Helfer said. "That's Gina." She explained that the new character is a Cylon who has been tortured and abused, and who has lost her faith.

Visit SyFy Portal for more from Helfer's appearance at the convention! The actress also talks about the evolution of Six's relationship with Gaius Baltar in the show's second season, which premieres this Friday at 10 p.m. Eastern/Pacific on The SCI FI Channel.
