BATTLESTAR GALACTICA NEWS
NBC won't take Galactica from SCI FI

Tuesday - October 10, 2006 | by Darren Sumner
Major broadcast network NBC won't be grabbing the cable hit Battlestar Galactica from its sister network, SCI FI Channel, an NBC spokesperson told TV Squad.
"It is an online rumor that someone started and it is absolutely false," NBC said.
Rumors have been circulating on the Internet this week that NBC is planning to air first-run episodes to shore up its own primetime schedule, using Galactica as a mid-season replacement to follow its new genre hit Heroes.
Battlestar Galactica is one of SCI FI's highest-rated original series. The third season premiered on Friday, October 6 with 2.2 million viewers -- impressive for cable, but low compared to the viewership a show might draw on a major national network.
NBC has previously experimented with airing the show. The original mini-series was aired in a condensed for in January, 2005, to lackluster ratings.
NBC and SCI FI Channel are both owned by the same parent company, NBC Universal.
