BATTLESTAR GALACTICA NEWS
Galactica headed for direct-to-DVD movie

Saturday - January 20, 2007 | by Livi Dolgin

A Battlestar Galactica film is now in the works. According to GeekMonthly.com, filming on the direct-to-DVD project will start during the season hiatus.

Battlestar Galactica moves to Sunday nights starting January 21 at 10 p.m. on the SCI FI Channel to finish its third season. There is no confirmation on a fourth season pick-up yet. The show's new spin-off, Caprica, has also not yet been picked up.

Should Galactica's ratings continue to erode, the highly acclaimed series may be discontinued -- in which case the telefilm would probably be, too, the producers say. There is no script settled as yet, but the production is scheduled to start sometime after March and before the fourth season would start filming in June.
