
Ratings: 'Avatar' and 'Childhood's End'
MONDAY - AUGUST 30, 2004

The fifth week of new episodes for Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis brought ratings lows for both shows, both "Avatar" and "Childhood's End" fell below the 2.0 mark for the first time this season."Avatar" began the night with a 1.8 household rating. On par with SG-1's Season Seven average, the rating is a sharp drop-off of four-tenths of a point from the previous week.
Atlantis managed to improve slightly on its lead-in, with a 1.9 household rating for "Childhood's End." The show fell three-tenths of a point from the previous week, and is the new series' lowest rating to date. The heavily-promoted July 16 premiere of the spin-off scored a record 3.2 rating.
The series remained the top two programs for the week on The SCI FI Channel.
