New details on Atlantis' 'Hot Zone'
MONDAY - NOVEMBER 22, 2004

GateWorld has uncovered new information on "Hot Zone," an upcoming episode of Stargate Atlantis! Beware of spoilers in the report below.
While evaluating damage to the city from the hurricane ("The Storm," "The Eye"), Dr. McKay, Lieutenant Ford, Dr. Zalenka, and a large team begin to experience the effects of an unusual infection. It is discovered to be a nanite virus, which causes people to have hallucinations before dying horribly of a brain hemorrhage.
The city is put in lockdown, and several members of the expedition die. Major Sheppard's actions accidentally cause more people to be infected. The team hatches a plan to use an electromagnetic pulse to disable the nanites infecting the city's inhabitants. But it ultimately fails, as the pulse was not strong enough. The crew is back to square one.
How can the deadly technology be stopped before it cuts down the entire city's inhabitants? And if they were engineered to attack the Ancients thousands of years ago, who created the nanites in the first place?
Visit GateWorld's Atlantis episode guide to find photos from this episode! "Hot Zone" is expected to air this February on The SCI FI Channel in the United States. The episode makes its world debut on Canada's The Movie Network tonight.
