Stargate takes home three Leo Awards

Stargate took home three key awards at the 2005 Leo Awards this weekend, led by SG-1 co-star Amanda Tapping. Tapping was awarded Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series for her work in the Season Eight episode "Threads."
Stargate Atlantis won the award for Best Visual Effects in a Dramatic Series ("The Eye"). Congratulations to Mark Breakspear, Bruce Woloshyn, Dan Mayer, Simon Ager, Tara Conley, and the entire team at Rainmaker!
Finally, Stargate SG-1's Christine Mooney took home the award for Best Costume Design in a Dramatic Series ("Moebius, Part 2").
Stargate Atlantis was also nominated but did not win awards for Best Dramatic Series, Best Picture Editing, Best Overall Sound, Best Production Design, Dramatic Series Direction (Peter DeLuise for "The Defiant One"), and Dramatic Series Screenwriting (Peter DeLuise for both "The Defiant One" and SG-1's "Affinity"). Stargate SG-1 was also nominated for Dramatic Series Cinematography.
Michael Shanks was nominated for Best Lead Performance by a Male. David Nykl ("Radek Zelenka"), Paul McGillion ("Carson Beckett"), and Tom McBeath ("Harry Maybourne") were also nominated for Best Supporting Performance by a Male. Allison Hossack ("Poisoning the Well") was nominated for Best Supporting Performance by a Female.
