Black to headline three 2006 conventions

Actress Claudia Black will headline three official Stargate conventions in 2006, Creation Entertainment announced this week. The Farscape actress has quickly made a name for herself among Stargate fans as Vala Mal Doran, the wise-cracking con artist who will appear in her eighth and ninth episodes of the series before the current season is done.
Black will appear on stage, sign autographs, and do photo ops for con-goers in Chicago, Illinois (August 25-27, 2006), Secaucus, New Jersey (November 3-5, 2006), and Burbank, California (November 17-19, 2006). More details regarding the specific dates for the actress's appearances will be announced as the conventions draw closer.
Tickets for these events are now on sale at Creation's Web site.
After her well-received introduction in Season Eight's "Prometheus Unbound," Black filled in for series co-star Amanda Tapping when she was on maternity leave early in Season Nine. She appeared in this season's first six episodes, and will return for the final two in March.
