SG-1 nominated for Saturn Award

Thursday - February 21, 2008 | by David Read

Stargate SG-1 once again picked up a Saturn Award nomination for Best Syndicated / Cable Television Series. Despite its cancellation, SG-1 remains eligible for one more year. Season 10 is currently airing in syndication.

Stargate's competition for Best Syndicated / Cable Series this year includes Dexter, Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, Kyle XY and Saving Grace.

Stargate SG-1 won the Saturn award in 2000, 2004, and 2005. Battlestar Galactica has taken the award for the past two years.

Like last year, the Best Series nod is Stargate's only nomination this year. ABC's Lost once again leads the nominations with seven; Showtime's Dexter has five; NBC's Heroes has received four nominations.

The 34th annual science fiction and fantasy genre awards will be presented Tuesday, June 24, in Universal City, California.

Visit The Academy of Science Fiction Fantasy & Horror Films at SaturnAwards.org for the full list of this year's nominees.
