Stargate Infinity DVDs due May 13

Friday - February 8, 2008 | by Darren Sumner

Stargate Infinity is finally headed to DVD this year (Region 1 - North America) (story), and today our friends at TVShowsOnDVD.com unveiled the anticipated release date and the first look at the cover art!

All 26 episodes of the animated series will be released in a 4-disc set on May 13, along with a pair of bonus featurettes: "Animated Stargate Effects Test" and "Never-Before-Seen Animated Character Walking Models."

Running time for the series is estimated at about 600 minutes. No pricing has been announced by distributor Shout! Factory Entertaiment yet.

Stargate Infinity is set 30 years in the future and tells the tale of Major Gus Bonner (voiced by Dale Wilson), who flees Stargate command to another planet after he is framed for a crime by an alien shape-shifter. A team of young cadets go with him.

The series was produced by DIC Entertainment under license from MGM, and is not considered to be a canonical part of the Stargate universe by the producers of the live action TV series.
