New details on Atlantis season finale

Tuesday - February 19, 2008 | by Darren Sumner

Beware of SPOILERS for Season Four's "The Kindred" and "The Last Man" in the report below.

Only three episodes remain this season, and Stargate Atlantis is sure to go out with a bang when "The Last Man" airs on Friday, March 7. Now GateWorld has new info on the plot of the episode, courtesy of SCI FI Channel.

Here's how the network describes the episode:
Disheartened by another unsuccessful search for Teyla, Lt. Colonel Sheppard returns home to Atlantis and immediately senses that something is not right. Further investigation reveals that not only has the city been completely abandoned, its systems are all dead and, instead of ocean, is now surrounded by rolling sand dunes as far as the eye can see.

A significantly older looking McKay appears -- a hologram with devastating news to relay. A freak anomaly has sent Sheppard over forty thousand years into the future and everyone he has ever known is long dead. But McKay has a risky plan to return Sheppard to the past, and reverse a future that went horribly wrong.
"The Last Man" will also include appearances from a number of familiar faces, including Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo, who joins the cast full-time next season) and Jeannie Miller (Kate Hewlett).

But first, don't miss the highly anticipated, two-part episode "The Kindred!" New episodes of Stargate Atlantis air Fridays at 10 p.m. (9 Central) on SCI FI in the United States, and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Sky One in the U.K.
