The fans have spoken! In accordance with the poll results of StargateHub.com, the first and last episodes of Stargate Atlantis will be coming to Blu-ray disc this summer.

Episodes include “Rising” and the final episode of Atlantis, “Enemy at the Gate.” That’s three hours of television. More details on this release will be available in the weeks ahead.

Fans can now visit the recently-launched SGAFansChoice.com to design and vote for the cover art for this unique release.

Visit the site for details! The contest ends March 13.

(Thanks to Morjana for the tip!)

  • but how come only those 2 (well, 3 to be exact) episodes. werent there supposed to be 10?

  • Sounds good but this time I’m not biting. I know how this one goes. Buy two episodes on BluRay when they release and then a year or so later they release the box set and I’m out $40. No thanks I’ll wait.

  • Sound really good :)

I’m gonna try and design a coverart :D

  • wow….3hrs on a Bluray disc that cost the amount of 3 dvds…lol how about a season! those disc are 50gig! lol 3hrs come on!

  • I won’t be buying this. I’ll buy entire seasons but not a few episodes on a bluray disc. Its way to expensive that way. Why aren’t they putting all the season on bluray? Atlantis was entirely shot in 35mm/HD wasn’t it(including special effects)? I can be patient.. I held out for a bluray of ark of truth instead of buying the dvd, I can wait until the season come out on blu.

  • Only the first and last episode? What a waste of money.

  • wow… first time gateworld has been this slow… :)

    the full list is:

    1. Enemy at the Gate (Series Finale)
    2. Rising (Series Premiere)
    3. The Seige (unclear which part of the Season 1/2 3-parter this is)
    4. Tao of Rodney (Season 3 Episode 14)
    5. Be All My Sins Remember’d (Season 4 Episode 11)
    6. The Shrine (Season 5 Episode 6)
    7. McKay and Mrs. Miller (Season 3 Episode 8 )
    8. Vegas (Season 5 Episode 19)
    9. Midway (Season 4 Episode 17)
    10. First Strike (Season 3 Episode 20)

  • That’s a list of the Top 10 episodes voted on by fans at Stargate Hub — but not the contents of the Blu-ray release.

  • Does anyone know how long it takes for a submission to be approved and if they let you know if they don’t approve it?

  • The Top 10 list made into blu-ray could persuade me to buy a blu-ray player just so I can see these episodes in HD. Just replace McKay and Mrs. Miller or Tao of Rodney with No Man’s Land and I’m sold.

  • Wow earlier news on this was very misleading. I also thought we were getting a ten episode DVD for Blue-ray. This one, I’m not buying.

  • I’m not artistic at all, but could someone please please please make a Todd version that I can vote for?

  • the top ten are the ones chosen, so they should all be there and plus, the siege is the entire three-parter from what i can gather :)

  • The voting was just to get publicity for this release. And I’m starting to have doubts on the companies ability to perform a full season release on blu-ray from the sci-fi network. They’ve dropped the ball with the blu-ray release of battlestar and there’s no indication that sg-a will be any different.
