After seeing all the Dragon Con videos of the SGA actors it makes me miss them even more and I can never see myself caring about the new SGU cast the way I fell in love with the SGA characters. SGA had so much more potential and an amazing cast with so much chemistry, what a waste. The SGU cast and storyline line leaves me cold in comparison.

Seriously I tire of reading the same things over and over again, am I glad that Atlantis has ended, about 50-50 if I completely honest, towards the end it was pretty pathetic, and the chemistry blackhawlk is talking of and the classy storylines that rsharpe is mentioning well.. was i watching a different show all these years and not even noticing? lol
imo there was nothing classy about atlantis, not with Shep always trying to ‘kirk’ the hot woman of the week, and yet ppl moan about the increase of sex in the new show, colour me confused lol

I have watched all the trailers for SGU and read quite a few of the stories and news releases about the new show. I referred to Atlantis as being classy because I never felt that my intelligence was insulted nor that the female characters were depicted as being less than equal to the male characters. John Shepparpd’s character kissed maybe 3 women in the 100 episodes of Atlantis. Not so deserving of the “Kirk” nickname except as a joke by McKay’s character. What I and many others are concerned about is the way that body-swapping, with the rape of the person whose body is being used by another person, is going to be a major part of the plot. I don’t condone rape as an ongoing plot device to facilitate communication. The next to last episode shown on Atlantis was an the episode
entitled “Vegas”. An extremely unusual and very well-done episode that highlighted everything I and many other Atlantis fans enjoyed immensely. If there had been more seasons, I feel that more great episodes like this one would have been written, produced and shown. Instead, Atlantis was cancelled and substituted with what appears to be a poorly conceived show with washed-up actors as the leads and none of the charm that Atlantis possessed.

I thought the SGA cast had loads and loads of chemistry! They were the definition of TEAM for me.
And that Kirk comment was just silly stuff (by the way originally made by Rodney regarding Sheppard’s love for his “ship”,not anything to do with romance), Rodney’s seen more action than Shep ever did on that show.
I loved SGA and the characters (minus the McKeller)and got a huge amount of enjoyment out of watching it, all 5 seasons.

I would have given SGU more support and would have considered watching it if it did not REPLACE SGA. I am now boycotting SGU. SGA is an award winning show with a great fan base, and had more to tell…it could have easily gone on for at least 2 more seasons. The more I watch my SGA DVD’s the more I miss the characters and the actors… and the more I detest SGU. They are fools to cancel it. If they expect the Stargate loyal fan base to join the new SGU fan base, they had better come out with SGA movies soon. Otherwise, they just lost a whole bunch of viewers.

Yes its been a year SO WHAT, what’s you point??? If you liked the show an didn’t want it to end an liked that format, so its a year down the line, again SO WHAT. Thanks for telling us we MUST watch the first one despite the fact that most people who have decided NOT watch ,is perhaps because THEY DON’T WANT TO for whatever there reasons, its personal choice that’s comes into play. If like me you think its CRAP with some terrible actors cast god awful story lines an full of not nice characters an angst an good knows what else horrible character driven rubbish an sex related stories, why would I want watch. An if the trailers are anything to go by, which I’ve seen they are just “so awful” they leave you cold, again why watch.

Sorry if you want to watch that’s your choice an fair play to you, those of that don’t, that’s our choice too, if you don’t like that sorry that’s your problem.

For me it doesn’t matter if you want to watch it an or are looking forward to it, it doesn’t affect me one iota, so me or others not watching or wanting to watch is hardly going to effect you either or the ratings come to that, beside Sic fi UK are now showing WH13 on a Tues nite so with Sky going to show SGU on a Tuesday as well, I know which show I prefer to watch YEAH an it isn’t Stargate Crapiverse, I personally like entertaining an fun TV over angst, flaws an despair/conflicts an sex any day thank you every much, again its personal choice an likes an dislikes. Sorry I thinks its about time people got over “the you cant judge it till you have seen it thing an you must watch attitude, people are so very different an see things differently for a multitude of reasons an there is nothing wrong with watching or not watching it, if that’s what you YOU the individual has decided.

“Atlantis Rocks” keep up the good work. “Man in the suit” how much does it pay to be a troll, or are you just contentious by nature? How does one’s marital status affect whether a tv show is enjoyed or not? You might want to preview your comments before you post them. I doubt I or anyone else will be taking writing tips from you.

On average there are more male viewers for Stargate. Not that one should be ashamed to be a married lady. Or a single man for that matter.

If you haven’t seen SGU don’t complain about it. If you’re not going to watch it just don’t watch it. I don’t jump on people’s backs for watching Enterprise (even though I dislike it). While I’ll admit that I myself am not crazy about a certain plotline in SGU, I’m willing to reserve judgement till I actually see the show. Hopefully they won’t keep that plotline. And remember how SG-1 started in the beginning? Then the show transformed into something quite different. :)

And yes, you’re writing has improved greatly. I’m so proud ma’am!

I thought SGA S5 had a few throwaway episodes, but also had some of the best episodes. I haven’t seen the trailers to SGU and I don’t know if I’ll watch it. I never saw SG-1 until I recently caught some eps and was disappointed to see how similar some SGA storylines were. This does not leave me hopeful for SGU, especially as it’s mostly the same team and they’ve already finished the first season (or just about), which means there’s no room for them to seize upon a particular storyline that might register strongly, or a character that somehow made it through their sensibility, but rings false with the audience (Lucius, anyone?)
All I have to go on–unfortunately–is Mallozzi’s blog, and to hear the enthusiasm they’re putting into SGU when they could’ve kept it with SGA is disheartening. Especially when there’s no SGA movie in sight, and the same writers (in general) behind the scenes.

I really hope for a SGA movie, but as I hear that is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

I bet if you made a movie combining the crews of SG1 and SGA and put out to the movies beginning where the show left off with Atlantis landing on earth . Atlantis is the last ship of the ancients and should be used to fet rid of all the Ghouls in our galaxy and the Wraith in the Pecusus to clean both Galaxies of the bad guys. A touch with the continuing next five of SGA to run to the same time spend as SG1 would be great. If SGA would’ve been advertised on other cable channels as Battlestar was more people wouldve watched it. I stumbled into to it by accident when it was just SG1. SGA got a bad wrap when it came to people knowing about it. The Gay thing about who was, give me a break, we see people acting not their sex preference.
