If you are without Syfy Channel on your television — or just eager to own a clean, high-quality copy of Stargate Universe on your PC — this news is for you.  The iTunes Store in the U.S. is now pre-selling Season Pass subscriptions to the first season of the new series.

Standard definition episodes are available for $35.99 for the whole season, or $1.99 per individual episode starting October 3.  You can also subscribe to SGU in high definition, at $53.99.  Individual HD episodes should be $2.99 when the show begins airing.

The first season will be comprised of 20 episodes, with new additions showing up on Saturdays following the Friday night premiere.  That’s about $1.80 per episode for Season Pass subscribers ($2.70 per episode for HD).

There is no word yet on whether MGM will also make the show available for online viewing at Hulu.com. Stargate Atlantis and SG-1 episodes are available there now, but were not released weekly during the show’s original run.

iTunes also currently has the full-length SGU trailer from Comic-Con available as a free download.

Stargate Universe premiers on Friday, October 2 in the U.S., with the 2-hour “Air” at 9 p.m. E/P on Syfy.  Look for it at the same time on SPACE in Canada; October 6 on Sky1 in the U.K.; and October 9 on SCI FI Channel in Australia.
