Propworx Stargate Auctions: Week Three

Monday - February 8, 2010
Category: PRODUCTS

propworx_thorschariotThe third week of Stargate auctions is on! Propworx has just unveiled another 100 items from the Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis archives, featuring costumes worn by the actors, as well as props, set decoration and concept art.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the offerings available this week!

Thor’s Chariot Original Concept Art
Original concept art elements blended with printed elements to create the scene of Thor’s arrival from the Stargate SG-1 Season Two episode, Thor’s Chariot. When Daniel and Carter communicate the arrival of the Goa’uld Heruur to Thor in a distant galaxy, he rushes to Cimmeria aboard his Asgard mothership Beliskner to destroy the Goa’uld forces. This episode featured the first depiction of an Asgard mothership, beautifully illustrated in this sketch.

Atlantis Base Patch
A production made Atlantis base patch with Velcro backing, identical to the kind used by Atlantis expedition members in Stargate Atlantis.

propworx_orihelmetOri Helmet
Helmet worn by an Ori warrior from Stargate SG-1 Seasons Nine, Ten and “The Ark of Truth.” The warrior caste served as ground troops for their noncorporeal gods, the Ori, traveling to distant planets and forcing alien cultures into servitude and worship. Their message was always the same: follow the path of Origin or be laid down in the dust.

Oranian Pistol
Pistol wielded by the Oranians Tenat and Jup in the Stargate SG-1 Season Eight episode, “Prometheus Unbound.” This prop was later re-used as the pistol for the “Daedalus Variations” alternate reality aliens in Stargate Atlantis Season Five.

propworx_dhdglyphpanelDHD Glyph Panel
Panel taken from a specific glyph on a Puddle Jumper Dial Home Device dash board, used in the production of Stargate Atlantis. Each Puddle Jumper was equipped with its own DHD so that the pilot could remotely dial the Stargate to another world.

Superfan Promo Costume
Grey faux uniform jacket and pants, red shirt and impact pads worn by James Kallas as “Dave ‘Superfan’” in the Stargate Atlantis Superfan commercials. Directed by Atlantis Executive Producer Martin Gero, these commercials were used to promote the live viewing of Stargate.

Abydos Cartouche Original Concept Art
Original concept art for the Abydos cartouche room in the Stargate SG-1 pilot, Children of the Gods. This room is the key to Jack O’Neill’s team discovering that the Stargate can go other places. Comes in two layers, with the original concept art underneath and a cello and paper overlay of the revised concept art on top. Concept artists will often use this method of adjusting their artwork rather than erasing the original and starting over.

Woolsey Glasses
Hero glasses worn by actor Robert Picardo as “Richard Woolsey” in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Woolsey began as a prickly NID investigator in SG-1 Season Seven’s “Heroes, Part 2,” but soon became an ally of Stargate command, and eventually leader of the Atlantis expedition.

propworx_wraithgogglesWraith Goggles
Set of goggles worn by a Wraith commander while tracking Ronon Dex in the Stargate Atlantis Season Three episode, “Sateda.” In this episode, Ronon is transformed back into a Runner and forced to run from Wraith who wish to hunt him for sport.

Sodan Costume
Sodan warrior costume, including vest, trousers and armor. The Sodan were a splinter group of Jaffa warriors who separated themselves from the Goa’uld to find freedom, only raiding the strongholds of their enemy when they required Goa’uld symbiotes to survive.

The highest-ticketed items from last week included the Jaffa costume ($2,782), Atlantis Door Panel ($1,225), Anti Replicator Gun ($1,125), and a McKay jacket ($1,025). The lowest included original concept art of a soldier shield ($31), a bayonet in scabbard ($40) and an ATF badge ($41.59). Which items will come out on top this week?

Check out this week’s Propworx auctions and take home a piece of history!

  • I really hope another traveler gun comes up at some point. Pissed that I missed that by freaking $12. Oh well, at least I got the tactical vest last week.
