Stargate Universe has picked up two nominations for the 2010 Emmy Awards, both in the Outstanding Visual Effects category. The first nomination is for SGU’s pilot episode, “Air,” and the second for the shows eleventh episode, “Space.”
SGU‘s Emmy competition in the VFX category will be V (for its pilot episode), CSI, and Syfy’s Caprica.
On another note, former Stargate SG-1 star Beau Bridges (Gen. Hank Landry) was also nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. Bridges has been nominated for his guest appearance on TNT’s The Closer, in the episode, “Make Over.” (“Make Over” will repeat on TNT Monday, July 12 at 4 p.m / 3 Central).
The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards air on August 29 at 8 p.m. (7 Central) on NBC. The creative arts awards will be handed out at a separate, untelevised ceremony on August 21.
