Since the release of Stargate Resistance in February there have been many patches, providing both minor and major improvements for players.
When Dark Comet Games took control of Resistance from Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment in late March 2010 they promised more content for free which was to include new maps, weapons, armour and more. Last week the studio issued a press release detailing a wealth of brand new features.
Those features include:
- New gameplay modes “King of the Hill” and “Arena”
- Numerous in-game achievements have been added, which brings the total number to 176. Some achievements include: “Puddle Jumper,” “In the middle of my Back Swing!?” and “One-Way Street.”
- A new game map called “Leonops” was added.
- Character models for Jaffa class and Soldier class have being upgraded to high resolution models, with the four remaining classes to be changed to high-res in the near future.
- New armour has been added for Jaffa and Soldier classes, which can be unlocked by completing various tasks like obtaining a certain rank and killing certain number of a particular class.

I would buy this like a shot … if it worked on Mac.
Stargate Resistance is surprisingly good. Very competitive and as good as anything I’ve played. It seems to have a core of persons who play regularly and it’s still around after some time, so that definitely says something. And Dark Comet’s additions so far have all been excellent.
MGM should have Bioware make a Stargate rpg in the style of Mass Effect. Words cannot describe how awesome that would be.
why not have a stargate game that is similar to STARCRAFT? I dont know what SGR is.
@Duneknight … then go to the website lol
When I get a job, or find some cash, I’m gonna update my five year old PC and buy Resistance, I hope it has single player and isn’t solely multiplayer.
@Coremae
There is no single player aspect to SGR. It is multiplayer only.
@aaron Meehan
That sucks, here it is I’m hoping for a regular adventure game with an aspect of multiplayer and this is multiplayer only? That blows, I wanna be able to explore stargate worlds and finish missions and just enjoy a regular stargate experience, Multiplayer is always so clustered and you have to take part and play with others, and there are times I prefer not to be in the company of others (only mostly :) )
And yet it still doesn’t work on a mac. You’d think after they made steam available, they’d start throwing games our way.
Oh well, there goes my optimism for the day.
