The premiere of SGU’s second second season is scheduled to premiere in Sweden in November, on TV6. No date has been decided yet. Just sayin’

Why do networks insist on different air dates for TV show? If they want to persuade people to continue to pay for their content then a world wide air date must be established. Timezones make it hard to have it air at the same time but fans are not going to wait any longer then they have to. Why wait additional days or even weeks when one can torrent the show in 15 minutes?

Please stop licensing the show to SPACE in Canada. This show deserves to be watched in HD and SPACE can’t bother upgrading even though they have the license. This means you have a whole lot of Stargate fans that have to grab the show through alternate means just to watch it in HD! (It was the same with Battlestar.. ugh). At least Atlantis used to be on one of the movie networks here which was in HD.

I have to agree with Lee_Machine. Although it’s great that countries such as Sweden have become better at showing first run episodes of various tv-shows alot sooner than they used to (could take anywhere from 6-12 months and beyond before). But it would be so much better if they aired within a day or two from the US counterpart.

– well you know for us who live in “all over the world” it’s waaaay much more interesting than to know when it starts in the US somehow.

Yeah, and for people living in the non- English speaking world, clicking on the this news is kind of disappointing. I assumed Darren would be aware that “worldwide” encompasses a little more than 4 English speaking countries ;o).
That aside, RTL 2 in Germany does indeed not have any new airing dates online so far. Looks as if Germany will be behind schedule on S2.

For the […] that made the inappropriate suggestion to stop licensing the show to SPACE, many of us don’t have HD and the only way to watch Stargate is via SPACE. We most certainly cannot watch it via the web/computer since we do not have high speed AND it is not captioned in that format. I was born hard of hearing and need the captioning to follow the show, SPACE was kind enough to provide subtitles and I am very thankful for that. The fact that we are lucky enough to get SPACE is amazing, FYI, I watch the majority… Read more »

I thought Australia stopped showing Season 1, is this a different network than the one that cut the show mid season? Confused

Yes, it is a different network – originally Season One started on an FTA network (one of the few airing the show for free globally) but dropped out after Episode 10 (probably because it started getting better figures in the ratings and the cost of purchasing it went up; a similar thing happened to Lost here in the UK). It’s now being shown on a Satellite Channel (SCI-FI), who aired it from episode 11 first time around and then optioned the first 10 and showed it right the way through.

@darkthunder I’m with you and Lee_Machine on this; I HAD to do that with both Lost and BSG, due to the way that Sky kept screwing around with their licensing here in the UK (they upped their rates for companies like Virgin Cable, as it was, and then forced them to pull the channel). I don’t feel so bad because I eventually bought all the DVDs for both series, so they still got my cash… Not sure I can wait for a week, so I’ll see what crops up… Satellite networks – you only have yourselves to blame… It also… Read more »
