Don’t think I’ll be watching. As much as I love the show, I just don’t see a point in rewarding SyFy with another viewer. Most likely will buy the DVDs though…will any of that go to SyFy?

Good call @Ugly Pig. I was thinking about getting them on iTunes to show my support to MGM. Does anyone know what other purchasing options there are in addition to DVDs and iTunes?

I don’t think VG was in Alien. Shouldn’t that read Alias? LOL :-)

Yes, let’s all thank the producers for giving us a cliffhanger in SGU’s final season. Gee, thanks, guys.

@ Floridarunner: What good will not watching do? That’s not helping the show at all! I’d rather see SGU go out with good/solid ratings than immediately slipping into oblivion. If the ratings are at least average there might be a tiny chance of ending the story another way or medium.

Personally I can’t wait. SGU seemed to improve every half season ( I absolutely loved Air 1,2,3 and Light though ) while the ratings went down. Stupid paradoxes..

REALLY?! ARE YOU FRAKING SERIOUS?! GOOD THING WE’LL GET TO SEE THIS “ENDING” THEN, HUH?! OH WAIT, IT ENDS IN A CLIFFHANGER!!!

Go fark yourself Sci-fi. That was the biggest middle finger I’ve EVER seen a network give to it’s viewers.

@Ugly Pig, I blame both SciFy AND the producers, SciFy for putting SGU on Tuesdays and during first-run network shows and the producers for not trying to fix what was broken. And, like some people, if SciFy has anyting I want to watch, I won’t be watching it on Scify.

Yeah, Syfy can go F themselves. Since the news broke, I have not tuned into syfy at all. I’ll just enjoy the last 10 eps on iTunes. What a shame. I’ve been watching that network since it first started. Way to lose a customer Syfy! Go Frack yourselves!

I have just now registered with this site. I’m a long, Long, LONG time viewer, but this is my first post. Why did I register now? These ads… These ads make it look like SGU is coming to its natural conclusion, it’s end at the end of a long show running, but in fact it is the SyFy Channel who are prematurely ending this superb show! The ads are a royal kick in the crotch for fans!! I live in Ireland, don’t have the SyFy Channel so I’ll be watching these episodes on Sky One, but these ads are sickening… Read more »

LoL..guess they’ve left it to us to “imagine greater” ending for ourselves!Let’s leave them just with wrestling viewers, maybe they rethink their business decisiones..in fact, frack them, that network should be shut down, for the sake of a good taste,if nothing else!

How can Sci-Fi justify this murder they have committed? Any claims by Sc-Fi or Syfy or what ever they are called these days, that SGu wasnt pulling in ratings is because they never advertised SGU. At least not to the extent that they advertise garbage like Ghost Hunters, or their own 10 dollar budget films. Really sci fi? REALLY!? you cancel the latest innovation of a 15 year old franchise, to make room for IRON INVADER.. What sucks is the show was quite literally just gearing up. I also blame the producers. They made no effort to relocate their franchise.… Read more »

Mgm needs to move Stargate to like, USA, spike or some network that appreciates it, would show reruns on a daily or at least multi-weekly basis, so you can at least watch it and keep up.

Leave Syfy to rot in their weeklong star trek marathons speckled with ghost hunters and their uninteresting movies.

That is so annoying. “The End is coming”. As if there will be some kind of closure like the final episode s of BSG.
On the bright side though, the second half looks awesome. I can’t wait!

The fact that the second half looks and probably will be awesome, best 10 episodes so far, because the series did take a hard turn toward being better, faster, more dynamic and exciting..makes the whole thing that much more frustrating!

If enough people do as y’all above plan to do, and not watch the eps on Syfy, it will only reinforce to them that it was a good decision to cancel the show. Shoot yourself in the foot for future developement of sci fi shows of this type.

So…umm…let me get this straight.. Your plan is to tank the ratings of the remaining episodes even further so that the very reason that they let the show go will be further justified? That’ll show them? :P Not that it really matters in the grand scheme since the ratings won’t likely be affected by such a boycott, but it does seem a little odd. Causing a sustained spike in the ratings would pass a better message onto Syfy. Not that it’s realistically possible, but it stil seems odd to think that not watching will somehow send a message when the… Read more »

I think that we should do the opposite, lets watch live to make SyFy understand that they made a mistake and at least give us a miniseries that will give closure to the series, negativity will give us nothing but positivism may give us a ending we fans want.

@Sylvia Coming from a person who claims and/or praises those who didn’t watch SGU in the first place as a..what,revenge to show them how frustrated you are over canceling your loving SGA..doesn’t that sound kinda funny! And about the other part,I’m gonna try to make it as simple as possible;the idea isn’t to stop watching the remaining eps of SGU,the idea is to stop watching SyFy completely,a network that isn’t really worth watching anyway and in fact doesn’t really need much to be shut down, because it’s been doing great job to achieve that on it’s own for the past few… Read more »

And btw, don’t think that Sanctuary,or Eureka or that paile copy of a great UK show..which if you watch the original, you already know what’s gonna happen, because it is literally a copy,it doesn’t even have it’s own spin on the premise, don’t think that they are gonna last long either.Sanctuary, which is the only one worth watching has already gone from twenty episodes in season 3 to again 13 in season 4 to probably 0,because there most likely will not be a season five. And then you will literally have bad b,or c category movies and wrestling. How long do you think a tv network like… Read more »

@Jim, There are a limited amount of “players” in the media world who can support and develop sci fi shows and Syfy is one of them. Not supporting the type of show you like, in your case SGU, on the network, will only reinforce that the decision to cancel it was a good one. MGM also will perhaps not wish to expend further money on the franchise if they see a marked drop off in viewers with these last 10 eps. What kind of ammunition are you giving Brad Wright to fight for a wrap up if the numbers drop… Read more »

@Jim – I would agree that Syfy largely needs to go, but it’s not likely to happen from Stargate fans no longer watching. And it’s still the only channel that is likely to air things like Stargate so until there’s an alternative, it’s the only game in town. Also, unless you have a Nielsen box, it doesn’t really matter whether you watch it or not. And in most places, you can’t actually cancel a specific channel as they’re grouped together in packages. So actually, the best thing you could do is watch Syfy and intentionally not buy anything that’s advertised… Read more »

I’ll watch the last 10 episodes live. THEN boycott SYFY. After the last episode I’ll unfollow and unlike SYFY on Twitter and facebook and join SGU fans in showing our support for the producers, writers and actors. If syfy does create another space based show, I won’t give it a chance until it hits season 3.

@mythos Well it’s not like I have this plan to ruin SyFy,I already said before that I’d watched maybe 2 eps live,so my watching or not will not make any difference, nor do I have such aspirations..to make difference about this. Why do people always understand things so literally. I was mainly speaking symbolically and although the numbers of people who post here aren’t significant in the literal sense, they ARE indicative of a trend..it is very indicative and serves as a good showcase, when 80% of people here say the same thing and that is even more indicative if we are speaking about… Read more »

I really think we should all ban SYFY. SYFY killed SCI FI. It really has. Did I see that they are even putting on a Cooking show?????? A science based cooking show. They want to compete with the big networks. The same way TV LAND did when they started making new shows like the stupid dumb “Senile in Cleveland”, high school reunion, and even some others. Same way MTV abandoned videos. These specialty networks forget that their purpose is to cater to a special market. They have no business taking on the big networks. Most tv shows are the same.… Read more »

The producers knew that SGU was not going to get a third season. It’s their fault for writing a cliffhanger. It’s their fault for pretending that there was a 5 year plan for SGU when now they openly admit they had no show bible. They’ve always had poor planning and organizational skills.

Geez guys and gals. You seriously think a boycott will accomplish anything? No it won’t. You’ll just reinforce the decision that was made to cancel the show and do yourself and other who like space operas a disservice. If on the other hand ratings are okay or better that would send a real message that might give them pause for consideration on future projects.

Don’t let SGU go out with a whimper. That will not help any Stargate fans.

@The destiny, I don’t know. I’m still pissed about it. Will I end up watching it? Probably, and I’ll probably end up buying the DVDs too. I’m just ticked that they moved it to Tuesdays; I can only assume that they wanted it to fail. I mean, it was up against Dancing with the Stars or something, right? No way a sci fi show is gonna compete with that. I just hate to reward SyFy with my time; I seriously doubt it will make a difference anyways. I’m thinking that the DVD sales are gonna decide whether or not it… Read more »
