Former Stargate SG-1 leading man Richard Dean Anderson is headed to the new FOX comedy Raising Hope, TV Line reports. Anderson will make a guest appearance in the upcoming second season.
Anderson (Jack O’Neill on Stargate) will play Keith, the protective father of a girl who may be the object of affection for Jimmy (Lucas Neff), one of the show’s main characters. He’ll appear in the fourth episode of the season, airing in October.
The fun twist is that Keith’s daughter will be played by none other than Anderson’s own 13-year-old daughter, Wylie! The two tweet together at @andersonrdean.)
Raising Hope returns to FOX on Tuesday, September 20.

Good for Wylie, i hope she starts to act more together with her father so she can steal some of that charisma he has. Is this her first job as an actress?
Maybe if there is another Stargate Series or DVD movie she could be in that too.
Thanks for the heads up. I think it sounds like a fun episode. I really enjoy the show, and having a double dose of Anderson talent in an episode is a wonderful idea. I can just imagine the scenes between Jimmy, and protective daddy RDA. Looking forward to it!
Here’s hoping in 10 years’ time, she will be the new O’Neil leading the front of the new reboot of Stargate! Yeah… wishful thinking.

The greatest personal clip of RDA I’ve seen was a paparazzi clip of him at a sidewalk cafe. A TMZ cameraman was filming RDA waiting for a table, when he noticed a man being abusive to a dog. RDA began shouting at the dog owner, upbraiding him for treating his dog so roughly. My respect for RDA increased immensely after seeing him defend the poor animal.
I wonder how this will work. RDA is very funny, but the way a show in a shorter format like Raising Hope will be edited, I wonder how much of him we’ll be seeing. That said, I love the show and I love him, so this will be an epic half hour!
