I hope they have done a good job on wrapping up by the end of the season. They are gonna be SOL if they haven’t. I’m sure SyFy will cancel it soon after the season premiere.

Glad its not competing with Fringe or Chcuk, though in Chuck’s case it doesn’t matter since its the final season, but Fringe needs our support to continue! Everyone needs to watch it!

I really hope Amanda Tapping and the other producers of this show wise up and choose to either end Sanctuary or move it over fully to Space before SyFy cancels it. The producers can’t give SyFy the satisfaction of killing one of the last scifi shows that god awful channel has left, because we all know its coming.

Still boycotting Syfy, so this doesn’t really affect me.

I wish I could support Amanda and the rest of the Sanctuary team, but I can’t bring myself to watch Syfail anymore.

they have killed space sci-fi…

@ Greenfire32, far2005, and everyone else boycotting SighFail, If you want to support Sanctuary, watch the episodes on Space channels’ site here […] http://www.spacecast.com/Sanctuary.aspx […] @ The Admiral I don’t think Space has the financing to go it alone on a show. The best that I have seen them do alone for a show is advertise that show’s premere, often weeks if not months in advance, usually before any other channels. An example of this were the original Sanctuary webisodes, which were talked about on InnerSPACE: “SPACE’s flagship show, InnerSPACE is a daily entertainment talk show that covers film, television,… Read more »

I’m looking forward to the Fourth Season of Sanctuary. Now that it’s back on Friday nights, it should kick aish! This won’t stop “SciFail” :-) from cancelling it, though.

– Thanks for the link to SpaceCast.com
Also, are you sure you want to use the name “SlayMe”? John Lennon kept repeating the phrase “Shoot me!” in the singing of the Beatles song “Come Together” and look what happened to him.

Be careful what you wish for — you may get it.

@The Admiral Absoultely,I too hope they’re already working on something like that, whether it be Space or anything else within the realm of possibility. If not Sanctuary is as good as gone after this season, there’s no doubt about that.Shame cause I really love the show.
Next season I’ll watch it via some internet option cause I too ignore the “Channel”.

@ Greenfire32, far2005, and everyone else boycotting SyFy, Are you kidding. I mean, you like the show, like the actors but because of one idiotic decision you are going to sabotage every single good show they have left. Are you really that vengeful. You won’t find a more pissed off guy then me when they first aired wrestling and cancelled stargate. But I still stick in their for those shows I like. Yes Eureka’s ending, there is wrestling and more reality, no stargate and everything seems to be sinking, but rats desert ships. I think they have some quality programs… Read more »

If I boycotted every network that has cancelled a show I liked, I’d be watching no television stations at all. Boycott shows you don’t like, but support those you do, no matter what network they are on. Because if no one watches the “suits” get the impression that there is no market out there. And, sad to say, internet sources are far from being able to fund production and distribution of a full-on space based, sci-fi series. Maybe some day, but that day is not today. Don’t shoot yourselves in the foot folks, watch the things you like.

It’s incredible how Amanda Tapping doesn’t seem to age at all.She still looks amazing, even better than when I first saw her in Stargate season 1! Did she really drink that vampire blood?;)

Exactly, I personally think the whole “boycott the network” thing is stupid. Just don’t watch stupid shows like Ghost Hunters (which I actually USED to like until recently) and watch good shows like Eureka and Warehouse 13 (if you think like I do that those shows are good). Still though, I don’t think we’ll ever see another show of the level of quality of Farscape, Stargate or Battlestar on SyFy, not with their new “imagine cheaper” motto. Eureka is good but I don’t place it along the lines of those previous shows in terms of quality and pure awesomeness (this… Read more »

@ syliva- Your wrong about that, by boycotting it sends a message that some of us are not going to put up with the constant cancelling of the shows we like . If nothing is said or done they wont hesitate to do it again and again. The suits at syfail probably dont care but the sponsers will and thats who will put the pressure on them. Why do you think farscape came back with the peacekeeper wars to wrap it up? It was the outrage of the fans that did that plain and simple. So no im not rolling over… Read more »

Yeah,absolutely..there’s another side of that medal. If you do watch the suits get the impression that there IS a market out there for what they’re doing..ruining the last remains of science fiction on this channel..and we don’t want them to get that impression. And @3531767 by buying Sanctuary on dvd,the profit at least doesn’t go to SyFy. It’s amusing that people still think that boycotting a network has any effect. They either claim they are making a difference without any ability to back that up or they claim they’re doing it for themselves so they can feel superior. Quite entertaining.

It probably wont make a difference as not enough fans are raising a stink but personally im sick of getting hooked on a show and devoting the time to stick with it only to have syfy cancel it. They are doing it time and time again. They dont know how to run a so called scifi network and dont feel they care about scifi fans in general. Im sure there are many many other fans that feel this way. Sadly most scifi fans are just sitting back and accepting what they are doing, sorry not me. This is why i wont… Read more »

@3531767 – But as many have pointed out, continuing to watch good scifi, wherever it is, has a far better chance of succeeding. Boycotts only work when highly organized. Otherwise they’re just easily written off and pretty pointless. And you are sitting back and accepting what they are doing. In fact, you’re doing worse. By boycotting the network as a whole, rather than positively impacting the shows that are already gone, you’re negatively impacting those that remain. So rather than helping the cause you’re actually hurting it. In fact, it’s arguable that you and those like you are the true… Read more »

@Jim apparently 3 million people feel differently about Alphas than you do. For every “Alphas sucks” comment I’ve seen there’s an “Alphas rocks” comment. @mythos: sci-fi on other channels: please note that I group sci-fi/fantasy into the same category, as does everyone else and has been done since well, forever: The Walking Dead (AMC) Game of Thrones (HBO) Torchwood (Starz) Doctor Who, Merlin (BBC) Falling Skies (TNT) FRINGE (Fox) Supernatural (WB) Chuck (NBC) though the future of Torchwood is up in the air. Browncoat, good list and you can add complete reruns start to finish of battlestar galactia thats on BBC america saturday nights! Loving that ,Currently season 2 is on. They do a supernatural saturday the whole night. So yes some of us do have other choices than to watch anything on syfy.

have I watched Alphas? Yes, but Heroes, even at it’s dreadful end, was better. SciFi can suck a lemon. Even though, I may do business with them in the future, at this moment, where I am sitting, they could suck a rotten egg. Though we’ll probably get to do business in the future. If we want big space shows back in space, then we’re going to have to write something so awesome, that could be done for less than 500,000 an episode, and then, and only then, will we probably get a space show back on the air. But 5,000,000… Read more »

@Browncoat1984 – Actually grouping Scifi and Fantasy together is a rather recent development that was brought about when the genres started getting mainstream notoriety and the audience pushed for awards to offer better recognition of them. And nearly all purists would disagree that they are the same. So your position that ‘everyone else’ sees things that way really has no legs to stand on. I’m willing to grant you that most do lump the two genres together but far from everyone does. It’s kind of like the difference between science fiction and fantasy. Your statement, with no real, intrinsic validity,… Read more »

No, I think this “Mythos” person just understands more about the industry than you do. Scifi fans need to wake the hell up and understand that “boycotting” syfy is a counterproductive action. WAAAAAAHHHHHH they took my show away so I’m not eating anything they make even if I like it WAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Criticse the shows they make to your hearts content, criticise their (syfy’s)decisions to your hearts content, lord knows they deserve it, but to not watch a show you like via a method that actually means something because you have your knickers in a twist is the eqivalent of my… Read more »

@3531767 – Yes, because I disagree with your actions which hurt shows like Stargate, I must work for Syfy. Let’s review things. You’re the one not watching the network and encouraging others to do the same. The fewer scifi fans that watch Syfy, the easier it is for them to turn away from scifi as it means their target audience changes. So you’re helping diminish scifi. So you’re doing far more to help Syfy cancel the genre shows than they could do themselves. They probably should be paying you only you’re willing to do it for free so why would… Read more »

Who talking about just sgu, Alantis had no problems with viewers and still was popular, what do they do cancel it. Now eureka which had good rating is gone. They (syfail) were partly to blame regading sgu because of the way they advertised it and when they kept switching the day it was aired. All this has been debated to death so it really does not make any sense to go back and forth again. Woulda-coulda-shoulda syfail may be thinking but i doubt it.

Sorry syfy no stargate = no watching

@3531767 – Money is what doomed these shows. Each year, costs increase. Costs are already much higher on a scifi show. So this affects them more. For a scifi show to get even 5 years is a miracle with how much they cost. Shows with ensemble casts like Eureka have it even harder. Expecting these shows to survive longer with the relatively small audiences that a channel like Syfy gets is borderline delusional. Back when the Canadian dollar was weak, it helped keep costs way down. With that no longer true, it just costs too much. Ultimately, you can be… Read more »
