All this month on the Stargate Rewatch we’ve been enjoying 22 fantastic hours of television, also known as Stargate SG-1 Season Two. Now it’s time for you to cast your vote on the best episode and your favorite character moments from this season!
Just like last month, we’ve been taking fan nominations for each of the categories below. Those with the most nominations are listed on the ballot below. (Take a look at the Season One winners.)
This month we’ve added two brand new categories: Best Hammond Moment (recognizing the General’s increased involvement in storylines in Season Two), and Best Alien Race for this season.
You don’t have to be a Rewatch participant to vote, but please vote only once! Voting will close on or around September 29. We’ll announce the winners in each category at the end of the month as we wrap up month two of the Rewatch. (Nominations for the best of SG-1 Season Three will open on or around October 1.)
It’s not too late to join the Rewatch celebration! Thousands of Stargate fans from all over the world are participating, posting about their rewatch experience on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and GateWorld Forum. Turns out I’m accidentally watching Series 2 at the same time as the Stargate Rewatch. Shame I won’t be able to keep up! I just don’t have the time to watch an entire series in a month.
I’d forgotten how many awesome episodes Series 2 had. I think that my favourite episode is The Fifth Race, just because it gives us our first little glimpse at the Ancients which become so important for the whole of the franchise.

Oh, well. My favourite guest character (Martouf/Lantash), my favourite episode (Tok’ra I&II), my favourite scenes from neither of the characters…was there. Oh, well. I tend to have a somewhat more esoteric taste than others :) At least I could vote for the Tok’ra!
If you haven’t voted but the system thinks you have, it’s probably because you share an IP address with someone who has already voted.

Actually, the link takes you to the results of the poll for favorite second season episode, and since I’m the only one using this internet connection, there is no one else at this ip address. I didvote for season one, did you clean out whatever file you are using to avoid duplicate votes?

I’ve got 2 questions:
1) who decides which nominations from the thread make it to the voting stage and what are the criteria? I couldn’t help but notice there was A LOT of nominations for, for example, character moments but only 3 made it?
2) why do we have to vote for all options? I don’t like any of the offered choices for Best X moment but it won’t let me vote at all if I don’t choose anyway. IMO voting for something I consider mediocre negates the whole point…
Hi Petra: 1) In terms of character moments, I group together noms that sound like they’re close enough to be describing the same thing. Those with the most nominations go on the ballot (with my Stargate-loving wife occasionally called upon to break a tie). I’ve kept the character noms to three, to keep the ballots from getting too complex. By the time we get to the voting stage here, we’re aiming to have narrowed down 22 episodes to the best of the best. 2) That’s a fairly arbitrary decision I made and could theoretically be talked out of. Already started on season 3. Quite possibly the best season of the series. Some pretty funny quotes as well.
