We got word back in the spring of 2010 that former Stargate Atlantis star David Hewlett was in Bulgaria, shooting his Syfy Channel directorial debut: an “evil snow monkey movie.” Ever since then we’ve been waiting and searching for news about just what the movie is called and when it will air.
Now we know: Rage of the Yeti will make its premiere next Saturday night!
David Chokachi (Witchblade, Baywatch), Yancy Butler (Witchblade, Brooklyn South), and Matthew Anderson (The 4400) star in the film about a group of treasure hunters who cross paths with ferocious snow beasts in the Arctic, and must fight for survival instead of for glory.
Hewlett (“Dr. Rodney McKay” on Atlantis) also reportedly makes a cameo appearance on screen.
Watch the trailer for Rage of the Yeti below, then follow David on Twitter @dhewlett! The movie airs Saturday, November 12 at 9/8c on Syfy.

hey, billz, you can do a lot with a little. it takes a good director and actors willing to commit to the part and take a poor script and make it something good! Look at star wars! I’ve read the actors said the script wasn’t all that great, and look what they did with it? I hope Mr. Hewlett was able to get the best out of his cast and crew!
While I feel confident in David’s skills as a director, not even he can save this SyFy **** from its horrible budget and two bit acting. Sorry Dave, but this is just one doomed scenrio that McKay can’t solve.
Good for David! The movie sounds cheesy but I’ll watch it because of him. And PS – Gateworld, DH tweeted you!
