The fans have spoken, and Stargate Universe is the runaway winner at the 2012 Constellation Awards. The series took home five of the six awards for which it was nominated.
Presented by the fan-run TCON Promotional Society (organizers of the Polaris convention), the awards focus on excellence in science fiction television and film, with an emphasis on Canadian productions. Nominations and voting in each category come from fans.
SGU‘s wins include:
Best Female Performance: Ming Na, “Epilogue”
Best Science Fiction Television Series
Best Technical Accomplishment: Joel Goldsmith, Music
Best Overall Film or Television Script: “Twin Destinies”
Outstanding Canadian Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television
Robin Dunne (Sanctuary) hosted the awards ceremony last week at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Toronto, and also won for Best Male Performance (for the Sanctuary episode “Fugue”).
Check out the full break-down of votes for all the nominees at the Constellation Awards Web site.
And why was this show canceled again? :/
No profic for greedy company :// thats why
I really cant believe they would leave this great show like this.
Hi Darren, I’m glad you took my advice and had your people post this GREAT news on SG !!! … it’s kinda old news already, but better late than never I guess. Cheers for now and SG 4 ever!! :) J.S.
This should tell SyFy and MGM something! Bring back Stargate!
Bring back Stargate Universe for a third season!
@maing: Given how busy life has been the last week, and the fact that the award organizers released a press release only two days before this story was published, I make no apologies for the timing of the piece. GateWorld is a site for fans, but also by fans: if you want to see something on the site, send an e-mail (or better yet, write it yourself and send it to me).
All those awards were hugely deserved. Too bad they were given too late to make a difference. Still, congratulations to the cast, crew and production team!
@ bhorwith
Bring back SGU for a third, fourth and fifth season!
Agree with @ bhorwith.
I’m ready for SyFy to admit their mistake and bring SGU back.
It will never happen, I loved SGU. But lets face reality people.
Well, I wouldn’t lose all hope of it coming back…I grew up a Trekkie, you know how that worked out :-)…Never say never…Patience, wait and see.
I think a little patience and well see SGU again might take 2 or three years but stargate will b back and better than ever! This time away may open more eyes of the fans than what it already has and return stargate 2 it’s former glory!
Wow, it looks like some people really got serious about reviving Stargate Universe. They havre announced an August 2012 release of Stargate Universe: Distant Hope

Looks pretty good! I think the acting could be better, and the effects are not up to par with the real series, but I think it is a valiant effort. Cant wait to see it!
“overmind one- This is great!
After just watching the end of SGU I can only hope that a new series or film to finish of the story, is rolled out sooner rather than later.
