Stargate Universe wins big at 2012 Constellation Awards

The fans have spoken, and Stargate Universe is the runaway winner at the 2012 Constellation Awards. The series took home five of the six awards for which it was nominated.
Presented by the fan-run TCON Promotional Society (organizers of the Polaris convention), the awards focus on excellence in science fiction television and film, with an emphasis on Canadian productions. Nominations and voting in each category come from fans.
SGU‘s wins include:
Best Female Performance: Ming Na, “Epilogue”
Best Science Fiction Television Series
Best Technical Accomplishment: Joel Goldsmith, Music
Best Overall Film or Television Script: “Twin Destinies”
Outstanding Canadian Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television
Robin Dunne (Sanctuary) hosted the awards ceremony last week at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Toronto, and also won for Best Male Performance (for the Sanctuary episode “Fugue”).
Check out the full break-down of votes for all the nominees at the Constellation Awards Web site.

bhorwith22 | July 13 @ 6:53 am@maing: Given how busy life has been the last week, and the fact that the award organizers released a press release only two days before this story was published, I make no apologies for the timing of the piece. GateWorld is a site for fans, but also by fans: if you want to see something on the site, send an e-mail (or better yet, write it yourself and send it to me).
Darren | July 13 @ 10:56 amAll those awards were hugely deserved. Too bad they were given too late to make a difference. Still, congratulations to the cast, crew and production team!

Looks pretty good! I think the acting could be better, and the effects are not up to par with the real series, but I think it is a valiant effort. Cant wait to see it!

Eliwallace | July 27 @ 1:34 pmAfter just watching the end of SGU I can only hope that a new series or film to finish of the story, is rolled out sooner rather than later.
