Anthropologist, member of SG-9 alongside Captain Hansen and Conner. Initially Frakes followed with Hansen in allowing the natives of a sun-poisoned planet to believe that the team was gods, but after Hansen began believing it himself, he and Conner attempted to escape. He bought Conner the few precious moments he needed to return to Earth while getting shot by a native dart.
Not long after, Frakes was taken before Hansen and killed. The natives burned him at the stake, leaving his dog tags in the corpse's place.
