Volian farmer under the jurisdiction of the Aschen. Keel was raised by an Aschen family and found them to be nothing more than benign and benevolent. His duties were occasionally obstructed by "iron root" emerging in the middle of his fields, requesting the aid of an Aschen ship to remove it. He offered some of his best sweet water to SG-1 team members Dr. Jackson and Teal'c if they managed to remove the root.
