Scientist stationed at Stargate Command, dispatched with SG-1 to investigate Vagonbrei. When team member Ackerman became unconscious during the mission he took blood work from him and discovered that he was not in a coma, but simply asleep. Reimer explained that Ackerman reacted in his sleep state, whereas comatose patients do not.
Ackerman had previously investigated a cave. Reimer insisted the team gather soil samples from this area to determine if there was a correlation with the cave and the soldier's condition. The soil samples revealed microscopic parasites which lodge in the body and grow in the brain until a fatal hemorrhage.
Reimer soon discovered that all members of the team had been infected by the parasites. When Dr. Carolyn Lam sent various anti-sleep pills through the Stargate Reimer overdosed midway through his work, stopping his heart and killing him.
