Colonel serving under Stargate Command, assigned as base commander of the second Alpha Site. Upon the arrival of Goa'uld ships into the system, Riley ordered an immediate evacuation to the Beta Site and remained behind to make sure the base's self-destruct mechanism was not disabled by Anubis's invasion force. The successful detonation killed Colonel Riley, but also took out several Kull warriors and protected vital Earth-Tok'ra secrets from falling into Anubis's hands.
