Ryan and Lieutenant Fischer attended morning Prostration two days before their departure. There, the Prior preached and went around blessing the people. He touched Fischer's head. Thinking nothing of it, the Lieutenant did not place it in his report.
Airman Ryan did not report the Prior touching his head, and later fell ill to the Prior plague, indicating that he was not a carrier.
