Humanoid world under the protection of the Asgard. Cimmeria is home to Vikings of descended Norse mythology, who believe the Asgard are their benevolent gods. The planet is included in the Asgard's Protected Planets Treaty with the Goa'uld, and is guarded by Thor's Hammer -- a massive weapon stationed at the door to the Stargate, capable of detecting Goa'uld symbiotes.
The planet is also the location of the Hall of Thor's Might, a cavern where the Cimmerians may be tested by the Asgard to determine their level of advancement and maturity.
