A casting call has gone out for a character named Kiva, set to appear in a 3-episode arc. We are speculating based on the shooting timeframe that this is the final three episodes of Season One. The casting call has been posted at SpoilerTV:
[KIVA] (35-45, female). Strong willed commander of the Lucian Alliance. Who will do whatever it takes to safeguard her people even if it is at the ultimate expense of the Destiny crew. THREE EPISODE GUEST ARC; Submit all ethnicities. STAR NAMES PREFERRED. The Lucian Alliance is a group of thieves and mercenaries who organized after the downfall of the Goa'uld, taking control of their ships for their own interests ("The Ties That Bind"). When Ha'tak motherships attack the Icarus Base in the series premiere, "Air, Part 1," there is speculation among the Destiny crew that it might be the Lucian Alliance. The appearance of a Lucian Alliance character at the end of the first year may lend credence to that theory.
Actress Rhona Mitra (Nip/Tuck, Boston Legal) has been cast in the role of Kiva, Syfy announced. She will appear in the final three episodes of the season. (GateWorld news report)
NEW! November 16 - Michael Shanks returns in "Subversion" as Daniel Jackson, along with Richard Dean Anderson as Jack O'Neill. "I made a cameo in the pilot and they're keeping me alive to pass the torch. ... In 'Subversion,' near the end of the season, we'll see myself and Richard Dean Anderson helping out with an investigation where sabotage took place back on Earth." (Actor Michael Shanks, in an interview with TV Guide Magazine)
