Stargate SG-1. Richard Dean Anderson took over the role from Kurt Russell for the TV adaptation of
Stargate, playing the leader of SG-1 as a main cast member for eight seasons. He reprised his role in several guest appearances in the last two seasons of the show, and on
Stargate Atlantis and
Stargate Universe.
During his tenure on SG-1 Anderson also served as an executive producer, with his production studio Gekko Film Corp. (with Michael Greenburg) receiving a co-production credit.
