There has always been two kinds of news to report on here at GateWorld.net: The big stuff that deserves a full news story, and the little one-offs that trickle in on a daily basis. The first is easy. To better communicate the latter, and to share with you, dear reader, any flashes of insight that might come across our grey matter, the editors of GateWorld introduce this new, semi-regular column:
The Briefing Room!
In addition to passing on news and opinion, the Briefing Room also gives us a chance to scoot up a chair to your breakfast nook and play it a bit more casual. Here we can tell you, mano-a-Interneto, just what we’re up to behind the scenes, and ask for your feedback on what you see. Think of it as an editor’s blog … on Roshna.
But don’t think it’s just the editors ranting! If you don’t read the Briefing Room, you might miss out on some interesting Stargate news.
To kick things off, here’s a peek ahead at some of what we are working on between now and the July 15 season premieres:
The Stargate Primer. For three years GateWorld’s crash course on the Stargate universe has been the best way (or so we think) for newbies to get caught up before the season premiere. Look for this year’s big update soon.
Interview with Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper! They’re the keepers of Stargate, the head honchos, the big cheeses. We had the rare privilege to sit down for an hour-long pow-wow with the men who call the shots at Stargate Productions, and we’ll be bringing it to you in three over-the-top installments.
Ask Sen’il. Our favorite Goa’uld has another installment of her popular column just about ready. What can we say? She’s got us over a barrel, what with the nude photos and all.
Video Games. We’re adding a brand new section to the Franchise area of the site to cover Stargate video games past, present, and future! In addition to a preview of this fall’s highly anticipated Stargate SG-1: The Alliance (also known in our household as, “Honey, I’m going to need an Xbox …”), we’re assembling a rare collection of material on classic Stargate games from the past 20 years. Yes, we said 20.
GateWorld Blogs. Executive producer Joe Mallozzi has been our guinea pig over the last few weeks, and we’re just about ready to introduce you to more very special bloggers. At least one of them is fully capable of kicking your ass.
All that, a free pizza! No, just kidding.
Finally, so that you can put faces with the jokers behind GateWorld, this unauthorized photo has made it out of the base …
