The eighth season of Stargate SG-1 is now available on DVD (Region 1 – North America)! Packed with audio commentaries and bonus features, the 5-disc set includes all 20 episodes from Season Eight of the hit show, which aired on The SCI FI Channel in the U.S. during the 2004-2005 broadcast year.

In Season Eight, Jack O’Neill was promoted to Brigadier General and appointed head of Stargate Command. Teal’c grew hair, Carter’s relationship with Pete Shanahan turned serious, and Daniel Jackson finally learned more about his time as an ascended being. The Replicators finally come calling, and the Goa’uld’s dominance of our galaxy will never be the same.

Highlights from the season include the 2-part season premiere “New Order,” the first appearance of Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black) in “Prometheus Unbound,” the mind-blowing 2-parter “Reckoning,”
“Threads,” and the time-twisting finale, “Moebius.”

According to reports, the studio has inexplicably included the shorter, 42-minute version of “Threads” in the set, rather than the special extended edition (60+ minutes) that originally aired on SCI FI.
