Beware of minor spoilers below.
The SG-1 episode “Insider” is writer Alan McCullough’s “best script to date,” Mallozzi said. “Stargate Command is going to have their hands full juggling — well, what does the average person juggle, right? — in this one.” Could the team be juggling … Baals? Mallozzi previously confirmed that the fallen (and recently cloned) Goa’uld System Lord will return next season.
Damian Kindler will follow with “Uninvited,” before the landmark 200th episode (Season Ten’s sixth) — for which the writers are rumored to be considering an appearance by the elusive Furlings.
Stargate SG-1‘s mid-season two-parter currently has the working title “Quest.”
Stargate Atlantis gates to Season Three with “No Man’s Land,” which will resolve this season’s cliffhanger finale. “Lots of action and intrigue in ‘the belly of the beast,'” Mallozzi hinted.
Robert Cooper’s “Sateda” will revisit the story of Ronon Dex’s demolished homeworld. “It offers a less than happy reunion, some very funny lines and character moments, and some good old-fashioned team bonding as Ronon’s past comes back to haunt him — and, by association, the rest of the team,” Mallozzi said.
Finally, Carl Binder’s early-season two-parter will introduce a dangerous new villain to the Atlantis scene — one that may be the creators of the mysterious “Hot Zone” virus.
“We are introduced to a brand new villain who’s handywork we have already come across,” Mallozzi said of the episodes. “‘Progeny’ gets the ball rolling in an episode that introduces the new baddies and sheds some light on some of the Pegasus Galaxy’s former tenants. ‘The Real World’ follows up with a seriously creepy episode. Poor Weir.”
Visit Joseph Mallozzi’s blog to read the full scoop, where he also talks about the Lucian Alliance, which relative of Rodney McKay’s we’ll be meeting, and more.
The new seasons begin this summer on The SCI FI Channel in the U.S.
