SG-1 will air its final 10 episodes on Friday nights, with Atlantis finishing out its third season with another 10 episodes. Season Four of Stargate Atlantis is expected to make a summer premiere on SCI FI, though no premiere date has yet been confirmed.
TV Guide reports:
- “Look for the show’s usual spirited mix of action, mystery and male bonding. Lt. Mitchell and Teal’c fight the fire-breathing dragon that trapped the team in September’s cliffhanger. Team scholar Daniel Jackson disappears on a startling journey and Gen. Jack O’Neill is there to banter with old buddy Daniel when he returns. There will be a touch of romance when two fan favorites finally lock lips. Also, Vala gets a visit from her dad (Fred Willard). But the ‘main thrusts’ of the final episodes, says Executive Producer Brad Wright, are SG-1’s mission to halt the galaxy-conquering Ori and the search for Merlin’s anti-Ori weapon, the Sangraal.”
The two series will be joined on Fridays by the premiere of SCI FI’s new original series Painkiller Jane, based on the cable channel’s 2005 original mini-series. Starring Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, The L Word), the series tells the story of a woman with the power to heal herself, who is recruited by a covert government organization.
Battlestar Galactica will move to Sunday nights starting January 21, where SCI FI will pair it with the series premiere of The Dresden Files, based on the best-selling novels by Jim Butcher.
