Very little is currently known about the episode’s story, and just who this “enemy” is. Since the writers are said to be introducing a major new foe in this year’s mid-season two-parter (“First Contact” and “The Lost Tribe”), it’s quite possible the new baddies are set for a return appearance.
The show’s writers have previously confirmed that this season will end on a cliffhanger, regardless of whether or not the SCI FI Channel decides to pick up Atlantis for a sixth year. (That decision should be announced some time in the fall.) Should the show fail to be renewed, a direct-to-DVD Atlantis movie is likely.
“Enemy At the Gate” will be the one-hundredth episode of Atlantis.
The episode will shoot nineteenth in the production order, after which the crew will pack up and finish the year at a very special location shoot in Las Vegas, Nevada. Written and directed by Robert C. Cooper, “Vegas” will air nineteenth out of Season Five’s 20 episodes.
Check out details on all 20 episodes in GateWorld’s growing Season Five episode guide! Stargate Atlantis airs Fridays at 10 p.m. (9 Central) on SCI FI in the United States, Mondays at 8 p.m. on The Movie Network in Canada, and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Sky One in the United Kingdom.
