I think the people behind Universe must have known, at least somewhat, how people would react. Stargate fans are very obsessive, and when altering their show so drastically, there was bound to be a strong reaction. I am not condoning all the behaviour, but it is not entirely surprising. I also have to torrent sadly. Me and my sister usually buy all the merchandise at a later time anyway (We have all 15 seasons of SG-1 and SGA + the 2 SG-1 DVDs + the original Stargate movie)
And well, it’s not just Australia that “gets the shaft”. My countries closest neighbour is the UK, but AFAIK, there’s no way for us to even register for a Sky subscription, which is really lame.
