The man behind Stargate Atlantis‘s John Sheppard will make an appearance on the season premiere of Fringe, as the FOX paranormal series heads into its fourth season.
Joe Flanigan will guest star in the episode “Neither Here Nor There,” playing a character named Robert Danzig. Here’s how the network describes the story (beware of spoilers):
The fourth season begins one week after Peter vanished, and as the two universes maintain an uneasy alliance, Lincoln Lee helps the Fringe team on a shape-shifting investigation that hits close to home.
Fringe also stars another Stargate veteran: actor John Noble (“Walter Bishop”) played Meurik in the SG-1 ninth season finale, “Camelot.”
The episode will air on FOX in the United States on Friday, September 23 at 9/8c.
awesome. cant wait. Fringe is one of the best sci fi shows out there right now.
I really cant stand Fringe (Basically the American Torchwood, ugh…)
I wish Sheppard, er, Flanigan the best though!
I love Fringe. It’s a fun romp, that is also interesting. A better X File, if you wish. Cool to see Flannigan…
Two Joe F articles – makes me VERY happy! I don’t watch Fringe, but will check it out for Joe’s ep. O/
This is great news! Fringe, in my opinion is the best kept secret on TV! Everybody I know who is a sci-fi fan loves it and says its one of the best if not THE best sci-fi show on TV (IMO it IS the best right now!) I can’t WAIT for season 4 to air and hope its a huge hit and gets more seasons. Would be cool if FOX stuck it to SyFy and had it run past 5 seasons (the producers said they had 7 planned). John Noble is an amazing actor too, he steals the show and… Read more »

I am always happy to see Joe Flanigan on the screen
I also think Fringe is not only the best science fiction show out there at the moment, but one of the best, most original and creative things to hit tv in the past 5 years to say the least!! I love it.And I love how much passion, creative energy, enthusiasm and respect for the fans people involved with the show are investing! It has some of the most amazing actors and writers as well.Writers that I personally respect and have been following for a long time now. It’s also imo a great example of what kind of imagination and approach to sf should be accepted nowdays. It… Read more »
I don’t watch Fringe but perhaps I’ll watch the Season 4 premiere because Joe’s in it.
And John Noble is the host/narrator of another show called “Dark Matters: Twisted But True” which I believe runs on our “beloved” SyFy.
It is great to have double Joe Flanagan news. Good for Joe! I like him a lot and have from day one. Hope to see Joe in a future Stargate project, but will enjoy seeing him in other efforts as well. I’ve got your 6 Farmer Joe!
I really miss Joe on TV. He/Col. Sheppard was the best thing about Atlantis. I hope we get to see much more of him in the near future.
“I don’t watch Fringe but perhaps I’ll watch the Season 4 premiere because Joe’s in it.”
I have a feeling that you might not understand what’s going on. I’ve been watching “Fringe” from the beginning and starting to watch the series in the fourth season would be like starting to watch “Lost” in the fourth season.
I don’t want to dissuade anyone from watching the series (“Fringe” really is a great show), but a lot has happened on the show already and it might come off as seeming really weird to someone who doesn’t know anything about the show.
Ha,ha…@kyle Nin,really freakishly weird.Have you even try to explain the show to someone who doesn’t watch it,lol? You see,you have this two quantumly entangled realities out of frequency with each other,so there are these cracks in universe…no it just doesn’t work!
I’m going to watch this episode because of Joe, if it looks even half way interesting I will probably go back and start watching the series from the beginning.
Looking forward to it. I like Fringe a lot, but I LOVE Joe Flanigan :)
It’s actually pretty good series with mystery and answers given in time.
Glad to see Joe on screen again but I agree that anyone who hasn’t watched Fringe before will be as confused as hell if they tune in at this point. If your interesting in watching it: It starts out with kind of the “mystery of the week” formula but develops into proper story arcs as the series progresses. It becomes in some way’s similar to Lost but not as extreme, where each episodes leads onto the next, creates questions, makes you think (especially the last cliffhanger) but leads to good pay offs. Also John Noble is a fab actor who… Read more »
I like fringe, I hope peolpe watch it and not download each week, or we lose another great syfy show?
I love Fringe and don’t spend too much time worring about the quantum realism – it’s a fictional TV show.
In the first two seasons Fringe was nice. A long story arc and self contained ones. Right now they seam to be dragging it. The second half of the second season seamed pretty bad to me, they were just buying time, introduced something of an evil twin, a little time travel and so on, all indicating a lack of ideas. Hope they will wrap it up this season or have a talk with the writers, because I doubt they’ll get another chance if things don’t pick up. The show is expensive and it has less live viewers than True Blood,… Read more »
ERRATA:
1. The first two seasons of Fringe were nice
2. The second half of the third season seamed pretty bad to me
Sleep deprived.
@DanMan Ironically realism of those quantum events in the show is actually pretty impressive.
On a submolecular level that’s pretty much it,the way it happens..simplified aa much as possible,of course.Fictional part is it happening on a macrocosm level, but hey it IS science FICTION as you said..sort of.But I like how so many of their, even craziest, out there ideas are in fact deeply rooted in science fact,or at least viable science theories.
Wow, he was barely in the episode, but it was still nice to see him again. Who knows? Maybe he’ll guest star again. It is sci-fi, so almost anything could happen.
Appearance was about the size of it. How disappointing. Don’t think it will really give any spoilers to say that he was dead before the credits. UGH. Should have utilized him much better than that!!
I’m just figuring that they’ll have Joe Flanigan back at some point, playing the alternate universe version of Lincoln’s partner. They did it with the character Charlie Francis, so why not this too? Especially now since Lincoln is a main character on the show.
And did nobody notice that another SG-1 actor made an appearance? Michael Adamthwaite, the former first prime of Anubis.. I guess nobody thought that was news worthy.. :(
