Stargate SG-1 premiered in the United States on July 27, 1997. Bill Clinton was in the White House, the Green Bay Packers were Super Bowl champions, and Star Trek still dominated the science fiction television landscape.
Today, it ended.
With the U.S. airing of the show’s final episode, GateWorld bids farewell with a very special feature gallery. Included among these 55 pages is more than 30 exclusive photos from the final night of filming. When the final shot was done and the director called “That’s a wrap” for the final time (shortly after 1 a.m.), the cast and crew celebrated ten years with tears, hugs, and goodbyes.
Now it is the fans’ turn to say goodbye. We have also collected thoughts and memories from fans, and from interviews with the cast and crew over the years. We learned along the way that no one thing we can put here would quite do justice to the show and its characters, but we hope this comes close. The focus is not on plot points and story arcs, but on the real-life people who made Stargate SG-1 so special.
Stargate SG-1: Farewell is a small book. We hope you enjoy it, and that after reading you join us at GateWorld Forum as we celebrate ten years of adventure through the Stargate.
