Ellori's people

From The Stargate Omnipedia

A hard-working people who, for many years, were in the servitude of Baal, until he believed the naquadah mines were depleted enough that the planet could no longer hold his interest. His new emissary who arrived in his stead, Lord Mot, likely presented his master with this information so he could keep the villagers' shipments for himself, and eventually rival or overtake Baal.

SG-1 met with Ellori, the leader of the people, who offered them a less-than-delectable meal and, in so many words, proposed that SG-1 could help free them from control of the Goa'uld. He used his people's oppression as proof of their commitment to this goal. In the previous season a great sickness swept through the village, claiming the lives of many. Thus, their naquadah shipment was greatly diminished. Ellori asked that Mot grant them mercy. Instead the Goa'uld took ten of the sickest, including the husband of his daughter Natania, and executed them in front of the entire village.

Ellori's people had a spy in their midst, Chazen, who possessed a Goa'uld long range communication device and was able to signal Mot to accelerate the time for his next arrival. In the process he successfully captured SG-1 and SG-15, threatening to discipline the locals if they did not reveal the iris codes so that he could send Baal a message by destroying Stargate Command.

With help from Natania (who would herself later kill Mot), the SG units were freed to later return with reinforcements and remove the presence of the Goa'uld from the people's lives.
