Memory stamp

From The Stargate Omnipedia

Memorystamp.jpg

Procedure making an individual forget an entire lifetime of memories, developed and implemented by the leadership on P3R-118 in order to control their worker class. Once the operation is successful, an artificial identity can be superimposed over the real one.

Humans from Earth are less susceptible to the memory stamp procedure, and it is even less effective on Jaffa. When this is the case, memory stamping must be a regular procedure to maintain the façade of the superimposed memories.
